I was just at Wall-Mart and brosing the PC game Isle and saw Pre-paid X-box Live cards and other cards for various MMO's and thought it'd be a good idea for GOG.com to offer Pre-paid game Cards in the PC game Isle too to buy games. You can scratch off something on the back to get the promo code or something. Basically their will always be younger gamers that don't have credit cards how will be copying their GoG games for their buddies unless they have a way to pay cash. Maybe even offer insentives for using the cards.
I like the idea, but I do not think it would be financially advisable - going retail is really, really expensive for several reasons, and with the meagre profit GOG would make at best.. Well, it'd be hard to set up.
Also, please keep GOG out of WalMart. Their stupid policies are hurting games a lot.

For the benefit of us curious yet uninformed foreigners, could you give some examples?

What would Walmart do to mess up prepaid cash cards.

Try to influence the GOG catalog, for example. Insist that they remove games that aren't in line with the WalMart games policy.

Like sell the censored no children versions of fallout.
Its the principle of the thing though, retailers shouldn't have a say in the creative process, its one of the worst examples of capitalism, when the money becomes more important than the story.

Money is always important, in order to run a successful business. But only selling what you think people should buy, as opposed to selling them what they want to buy, is just plain wrong. (Please, no extreme examples like weapons, child pornography, etc. You know what I mean).
But you're right. It's the principle of the thing. Let WalMart fester in its own haven of safe and inoffensive games.
