It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Solution 1. Clear your web browsers cache completly. Using other web browsers maybe helpful.

Solution 2. Try to "log in" from a different computer and different ISP/network.

If "solution 2" works, then you should do a clean-up process in your current PC.
I have one but it's only for my Fantasy Sports leagues. So, if it gets hacked it wouldn't bother me too much.
Well, i cleared the cache deleted the cookies removed all plug ins except adbloc no effect

Reinstalled the browser, no effect.

I can access the emails through the VPN or by using a direct link into the mails from the history though, or at least I could before i reinstalled it all and lost it.

what firewall are you using? it might be connected to the firewall settings for browser connections if one of the ads on yahoo are the reason

Comodo.

I tried turning it off and then logging in but still no luck

hmm had a similar issue with comodo and a different site all other sites were fine just that one didnt display anything

did you install PrivDog with one of the last updates? that one blocks a whole lot of stuff and is like a pitbull if you just have a word connected with some of its filters somewhere on the site, ive uninstalled that one and helped me with most of the issue

OldFatGuy: That seems odd, it's not Yahoo yet I see it on two different browsers?? Seeing it on different browsers like this would normally seem to indicate the problem is at Yahoo, wouldn't it?

I just cleared all of my cookies (which means I had re-sign in here and at my home page) and went to Yahoo to log in and once again got the same security message.

I think the problem must be on Yahoo's end.

Aveweto: last time ive seen those screens on my system was after upgrading my security, it unfortunately upgraded to such a level that i couldnt log into any kind of site until i lowered it again
That's what I was going to ask next. Maybe my security settings are set "higher" than others. If that's the case, then that means the problem is still Yahoo's, in that there is something triggering the higher security setting at Yahoo that's not getting triggered anywhere else. I log in fine to other email accounts, gaming accounts, etc. It's just Yahoo.

The problem is server side and technically the certificate.

OldFatGuy: Same thing happens, although the screen looks a little different in Firefox. (See attached)
Next time expand the Technical Details.

Someone likely forgot to include mg4.mail.yahoo.com in the sea of all the other valid Subject Alternate Names, or it's technically the wrong cert for that server. It is something yahoo needs to fix, but it is a valid yahoo cert. Just not for that specific domain.
