I've recently found out about the treasure trove of adventure games that are available to the European market. Quality adventure games with well written stories, unique gameplay, and rubber chickens with a pulley. (Okay, maybe not that last one.)

My questions is, If GOG offered games like Deponia, Harvey's Neue Augen, or Edna Bricht Aus, would you buy them?

If the answer is "yes", we should definitely ask the GOG folks to consider talking to some german devs if they haven't already.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a Deadalic game, as long as we show interest for german adventure games in general, it should get the ball rolling.

Only if there was an English translation since I don't speak German, but yeah. I'm always open to obscure games, especially when they're adventure games and awesome. :D

I didn't hear about games you mentioned but I love some of German adventure point and click games like Black Mirror or Grey Matter (and plenty more games released by DPT entertainment). So I would love to see them on GOG. Especially because they are usually really hard to get.

As long as they are translated into something I can understand and the game is good, then it do not matter where the game is made. Drakensang is another good example which could fit here.

German games, sure. German only langages, nope.

With Whispered World Daedalic is already here, but it's more a question of publisher. If Daedalic still has the rights to release other games, I'm sure we will also see Edna & Harvey here soon.

Beside german adventure games there are also some very good spanish ones, still missing the other Runaway games and The Abbey. In any case I hope GOG will get multilingual versions.

Actually they have english version but sometimes the english version came out only later. I would prefer to have all languages in one.

So, from me: Please GOG, travel to your friendly neighour country and get these rights.

As long as all traces of German were eradicated.. translated, I suppose so.

I'd only buy them if they've got a good English translation. An adventure game lives or dies by its ability to tell its story.

That said, I'd support their inclusion regardless, so long as they're good enough. It's just that we've got a ton of great games that should really be released ahead of them if they're only really applicable to a small fraction of GOG's customers.

Well, GOG already has "The whispered world", which is a german adventure game. I'm tempted to buy it, but I'm not sure how well the english publisher translated the game, I'd rather buy the game with the original dub. Being from germany, that wouldn't be a big deal.
It would be a different story, if "Whispered world" does offer the german dub and textes. (Besides the english translation, of course.)
But so far, it doesn't look like it.
Though Sadwick's german voice does put me down as well. Havn't heard the english dub, yet.

I also tried to watch an english walkthrough of "Edna bricht aus" and the voice actors didn't sound like they had much/any fun in dubbing the game and just tried to get the job done. That really put me down.

That's slightly better than Sadwick's german voice. He doesn't sound like as if he had swallowed a rubber duck.
German Dub

Certainly I'm interested in German or other adventures as long as they are multilingual.

This. I like playing games in English, and I can also understand that GOG can't offer multi-language support for each and every game, but I'd still expect them to carry the original version of a game along with its translation, if the original language was not English. Luckily I had already played The Whispered World before it got here, otherwise I would have been disappointed by the lack of the original voiceovers (regardless of how good they are).

I already got Edna & Harvey The Breakout, but I'd definitely buy the other ones. I think I also voted for them on the wishlist, and so should you, if you're interested. :)

But I think I read Deponia is planned as a series and there's only one episode available yet? If that's true we might not see it here that soon, because I heard that GOG turned down "The Journey Down Episode One" because it's just Part One of a series (there's always a chance that these games get here in a bundle later on, similar to the Blackwell games).
