Why are there none of the classic turn based war games, are the rights not available? Seems like Talon published a few and SSI published a lot of them. NO idea what happened to those two companies... lolz.
Ubisoft own the SSI games. So far they've only released a couple of Panzer General games. Butt more could be in the way eventually.

I wish they would release all the General Games and have a General games sale. Also, it would be nice to see the Battleground Series.

Ubisoft are shooting themselves in the foot by sticking rigidly to the $10 price point. No doubt that has impacted on sales, which in turn has probably lowered their interest in releasing games on GOG.

So I don't know how many more games we can expect to see from them here, to be honest.

As for the Talonsoft stuff, they were bought up by Take Two in 2000. Some of the catalog remains under their control, but Matrix Games bought up a number of game rights and have issued good re-releases of The Operational Art of War and John Tiller's Campaign Series, among others.
You can also check out Matrix Games. Their stuff ain't cheap but they have a few absolute classics available for free, such as Steel Panthers.

Edit: Crassmaster beat me to it. -1 for my reading comprehension, dur.
