I signed up here to get advice re: the above mentioned game. I've got Windows Vista on one laptop and Windows 7 on another laptop at home. Wanted to check with someone here that if I buy any of them that I won't have any trouble running them on my computer.

Thx
Like, running them in DOS Box? They definitely won't run natively, at least not the early ones.

Well for Wizardry 1-7(unless the version of 7 is Wizardry gold which is windows only if I recall) you just need Dosbox since there DOS based games Wizardry 8 should run fine you may have to copy and paste the game files manually but that is only if you have issues with the installer which I never personally had but you never know, but the game itself based on personal experience and based on what I can see based on searching doesn't have any compatibility issues.

If you find the Ultimate Wizardry Archives compilation (Includes Wizardry 1-7/Gold) the DOS versions all come with a program that helps run the games on newer systems (been a while since I played the set so I can't remember if it is DosBox being used). Wizardry Gold will need some manual tweaking due to it's initial resolution. But I haven't had many problems running these games.
Wizardry 1-6 work in DOSBox, and only in DOSBox. Wizardry 7 (floppy & CD versions) works in and only in DOSBox. For these versions, you'll need to limit the cycles in DOSBox to prevent divide overflow errors and sound glitches. Wizardry 8 works perfectly fine in Win7 straight off the disk.

No clue about Wizardry Gold, but it was designed for Windows 95 so it will likely have more and different issues. It's also a vastly inferior version of CoDS, so it should be avoided if possible.

However, I'm not sure what you mean about buying them. At the moment they aren't for sale anywhere digitally, so your only option for purchase would be old boxed copies.
