Many of the games on gog already require stuff thats way above casual users, locking threads to a specific processor and running tools that max out CPUs so no frequency-changes occur.
And dont even start talking about games that use Dosbox.
Messing with WinUAE shouldn't be a concern as similar to the games already on gog they could simply come with an preconfigured Emulator and place a link on your Desktop.

Yeah except that wouldn't be possible since the ROMS would need to be bought separately for starters so users would need to know how to add them. Plus, WINUAE needs to be set up to run at your resolution. The default settings look terrible on my screen and it takes a bit of fiddling to get it to look right. With DOSBox, the current presets should work for everyone.
GOG into the emulation world? It's a shame, but I bet this won't happen anytime soon....
Nintendo's shitty ROMs can go to hell anyway. I'd like to see Capcom and other historical developers' games, instead :-P

Yup, "Amiga Inc" sitting on the Kickstarts is an issue (or rather THE issue). Not all games need them however (WinUAE has a minimal KS Emulation).
Switching resolution shouldnt be a problem however if you configure a scaler. Might be daunting at first but its a one-time-setup and you can change resolution easy afterwards. Good example are Cloanto`s "Amiga Forever" compilations which come with a custom frontend to easily boot the games without any need for configuration. Cloanto licensed the Kickstarts from "Amiga Inc" aswell, so its definitly possible.
It isn't unlikely that something like this could be done for C64 and Amiga. Amiga has the Amiga Classic Player which is used officially here: http://www.amiga.com/shop/index.php?cat_id=45 (Amiga games which can be played on the PC much like GOG-games). And C64-games can (or could, at least) be found on GameTap.
So the technology is in place and probably isn't impossible to reach some kind of agreement which would allow this to be done on GOG. Something like this would obviously be a Good Thing (tm), but it remains to be seen if GOG has any interest in it. I would guess it could be something they might be thinking of for 2011 or later on. Right now they don't need to do anything like this, but later on it might be a good idea to implement support for new platforms in order to keep GOG fresh and interesting.
But then it'd be Good Ancient Games and the website would get lots of false hits from enthusiasts of choking porn and only a few of those would be likely to buy 8 & 16 bit games

They could be looking for puns, or a running gag, too.
yeah, having amiga games here on gog would be BIG (but hey - having atari , sierra or activision here was like a dream that will never comes true)
back in the days most amiga versions had better sound/music and graphics (Cannon Fodder anyone ?)
i hope we'll get some day BIG announcement from GOG about other platforms than DOS and Windows.
we'll get MacOS compability soon but it's rather having these DOS/Win games on other OS than brand new computer/console platform.
A lot of people using GOG probably never used a Commodore Amiga so they are unaware just how superior Amiga versions were to the PC for a time. It would be a nice intro if the few GOG games we already have that were on the PC (Waxworks and Cannon Fodder for example) were given the Amiga versions free if they already bought the PC version.

totally agree with that. as example - there are config files on back2roots.org (waxworks cfg)

i still have Amiga and i know Elvira serie (with waxworks) from good amiga times.
Lionheart, Darkmere, Lost Patrol.... and soundtrack [mod / mp3] as freebie?
damn there are so many GOAmigaG... maybe one day. maybe...
please GOG team - HEAR US! HEAAR US! ;) (or at least give us some statement about it - yes / no /maybe so)
