paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarty
I got windows 7 ultimate for free. Yay!
Fancy. Although, if you are part of your school's comp. sci. department (or a major that tends to code a lot, like Electrical and/or Computer Engineering), check to see if your school is part of the MSDNAA. Win7 Pro for free, legally.
Is this properly owning it or one of those lame one time install jobs like that offer where you get it free (with some subscription or other)?
EDIT: Ahh doesn't matter, american only by the looks

I'd imagine that it's simply an academic version. Which is only valid for as long as you're a student.

it says home in the graphics.
What kind of shitty low-grade college / university does not offer free Windows these days? Back in my uni days I had 10 valid Windows XP keys, all free, legit and university provided. XP Professional, not Home Shitstainum.

Is the student license version branded differently? Only it seems like an odd requirement for a full retail licensed version.

Back in my uni days, I think the whole campus shared 10 valid license keys. ;)

Mine. National University of Singapore. Imagine that. National.
It boggles the mind just WTF our school fees are going.
um, most US schools definitely do not give their students windows for free. but this $30 is pretty sweet though considering I'm doing a part time program right now
I am in college, so I guess I would be eligible, but I wouldn't pay a cent for it.
Heck, my dad has an MSDN subscription and I could get it for free, but I'm not.
