Steam just added Wolfenstein to their catalog. The price tag is 59,99 euro.
In today's exchange rate for me it is 253,16 PLN what is 1/4 of my monthly income.
Fortunately boxed copy in Poland costs form 89 to 120 PLN whitch is half price compared to steam.
D2D price 34,95 GBP = 156,93 PLN
For me its rather normal that digital download is more expensive in my country, im just concerned what will happend if in this case Acti will want exact price for their product everywhere.
Whould u pay that price for a game, or rather wait for its price drop?
How long would that price stay that high?
How would it affect sales?
Wouldn't it kill support for this game?
And thinking about todays bugridden releases, would the game be ever patched before price drop?
Activision gets to cocky, hope others wont get their way.

What? 59.99 EUROS? It's only 49.99 in our Ameridollars. No nutball would EVERY buy it at that price.
I think that for as long as Bobby Kotick is in charge and likes to make people feel bad about games (hey, overpriced games do the trick), then we'll see this wherever games are sold.

I don't buy from Steam unless it's substantially cheaper than elsewhere. My collection is mostly weekend deals as a result.
Why the hell would people pay more to buy through Steam? More to the point: why would they buy an Activision game full stop?

59.99 Euro is pretty much the equivalent price that most publishers think gamers in Japan will pay (around 7000 yen) and you know the sad thing? They do.
It could be worse mind, the price tag for the new Final Fantasy game is currently set at around 70 Euro (9240 yen).

As to whether I'd pay that for the game on Steam (or even the $49.99 they charge in my region), the answer is no. I bought it for less than that while I was in the UK.

Baring some ridiculous situation, the answer is a simple: No.
If I've convereted correctly this time after I failed the last time I attempted this... It is about what we pay retail here in Aus however, and at that price, the reason I no longer do so.

Yup xe.com has been my goto site for years when working out if I'm prepared to pay the price for a game or not. Like Last Remnant, as it's priced so unfairly here, I won't even consider buying it.
Companies really need to learn that you can't place a product for sale over the internet and then charge differing prices based on geographical location. If you want to do that, stick to the brick and mortar stores.

Well that's only true of the less pervasive currencies. That's not the case for USD, AUD, EUR etc. Which is why I recommended it.

Steam games are in USD for Malaysians.
Malaysians get paid peanuts for whatever occupations.
Also, we pay loads of tax on alcohol, cigarettes and cars (You guys won't believe, most cars in your country probably cost double or more in Malaysia even after considering foreign exchange rate).

For Australians there's rarely been a better time for ordering from america, the dollar's are pretty damned close to even so when a friend of mine bought OFP2 from steam the other day for us$40, it only cost him au$44 as opposed to at least au$90 retail and the bastard is getting the 360 version free because he's been a long term moderator at the codemasters forum, he gets 2 copies for $44 and I have to pay at least $90 for 1! (The PC version would melt my laptop into a puddle which sadly makes the steam alternative useless)
