It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Aliasalpha: Don't DVI cables carry non-video data from the card to the monitor and back that enables a degree of limited plug & play functionality? An adapter would probably not help in that situation though it would be by far the cheapest option to try first (especially if you can just borrow one off someone)

VGA cables also have this. Plug-and-play monitors have existed for donkey's years, hence how Windows (usually) knows what the maximum resolution/refresh of your display is automatically.

Ahh I knew VGA cables HAD it but I didn't think it actually worked very well. Probably just my cheap crappy video cards and/or monitors
