Foxhack: Well, Gamespy doesn't sell games. They're just a client used for multiplayer and stuff.

Besides, Steam sells games that require other accounts like Games For Windows and EA Accounts... It's not that weird.
But EA and MS have clout to make Valve bend, I fail to see what clout Gamespy has (since they don't publish).

slightly ot, but isnt EA the only major publisher that does not have Steamworks in their PC titles? It's like every other major publisher is steamworks only nowadays.

Looks like publishers that have their veryown game protection skip steamworks. The others have gone 100% steamworks. Activision, 2kgames, sega, relic, bethesda, and such.

It's nothing too strange, really - GameSpy is just a server browser thing. Middleware, like Bink / Smacker and so on.

yep i kinda like it cause it can search games outside steam only hosted servers which is good for old games specially games like civilization 3 i can still see people playing and join up
