But actually it is "Das Schwarze Auge" (The Black Eye) ... I don't know why the English version was named Realms of Arkania. But well, translations are sometimes strange.

Wishbone: Yes, I get the impression that the PnP RPG was mostly popular in Germany. I'd certainly never heard of it before the games were released here on GOG. Holiday = holy day.

No, Pentecost is a specific religious holiday, like Easter, Hanukka or Ramadan. It is fixed time-wise in relation to Easter, so it always falls on a Sunday, but the next day (Monday) is also a holiday, at least here in Denmark.

Lifthrasil: I have a code for the entire Realms of Arkania ( and [url=https://secure.gog.com/game/realms_of_arkania_3]3) bundle to spare and I would like to give it away for Pentecost. So, since we're having a religious holyday at the moment, this giveaway comes with a religious question. But one tied to the world of the games:

1) To enter, answer the question: who is your favourite god from the Aventurian pantheon, and why? (Doesn't need to be one of the 12 main gods. Demigods and other minor deities also apply.)

2) If you guess my favourite god from Aventuria, you get an extra entry in the random draw.

3) I'd prefer if you actually want to play the games. They are a bit clunky on the controls side, but they are nicely complex and draw you into their world with an interesting plot. So they still deserve to be played nowadays. So please don't just enter to get them for re-gifting or trading.
But you are welcome to enter for someone else to increase their chances.

The giveaway will close after Pentecost is over. I.e. some time on tuesday.

As a Magic Using Gamer, and Mage-Lover of the RPG world, I tend to favor Magic, so my favorite Goddess is kinda....ya know....Obvious.

My fav is St. Cuthbert. He comes along to personally take a hand in the Temple of Elrmental Evil at the right moment, meaning the moment I thought I was going to get wiped out. Plus I have a cousin who was born on the feast day of the real St. Cuthbert, 20 March, and he's awesome too.

Lifthrasil my post was a reference to a sketch I LOVED on a show called "The State" that I just couldn't help but make in this thread. I should have been more clear and included a "Not In" - as grateful as I am for the codes, I'm sure there are people here who are more interested than I so I WON'T be redeeming them... PM sent as well so all hope isn't lost for those who entered!

Oh and Lifthrasil rereading your PM it seems you knew the "Zorgo" reference - how could I not post that! ;)

Not in, already have them. Multiple times. Even on 3.5" floppy disks. And on GOG.

Favourite fantasy god from games: Easily Sheogorath (if Daedra count as gods). His speeched (you can't call it dialog) in Shivering Isles were awesome. Even better are the books dedicated to him.

From the Dark Eye: Usually I have a knack for Phex since he's so morally grey. Also, he's blessed my dice (I'm a DSA DM).
Borbarad (Half-God, remember?) is also cool just for his Badassness.

My favourite god, since my favourite character is a Thorwaler, is Swafnir. :-)
