whodares2: I would love to know too. Good thing "all was revealed" today....(sarcastic voice)
Thanks for the link
all, ALL, all... the list of extras. But not the technical details, a shame.
HoneyBakedHam: I followed your links.
WTF is Lucas thinking by releasing the discs with 6.1 audio.
5.1 is the standard.
7.1 would make a lot of sense, as that's just 5.1 with the rears repeated.
But 6.1 is just a weird and uncommon set-up. Channel 6 in a 6.1 setup is a blend of the left and right rears and anytime I've heard it, it just takes away from the separation between the rear channels.
Yeah 6.1 is uncommon, right now I don't remember any using it. IIRC the 2004 DVDs had the rear sound channels swapped, maybe they used that same mix with the swapped channel but "modernized" it to be 6.1. I'm not an audio expert, but that could be it.
And generally they use the lowest denominator for the older movies in packages like this, so possibly the original trilogy is as 6.1 and not HD, and the sequel trilogy is presented as 7.1 HD.
More news at Comic-Con, they said.
