Okay so now TW2 is confirmed on the Mac alongside the TW1 release already existing on Steam...

Apparently most staff at CD:PR use Macs.....

So bring on the love for the Mac!

The stuff from the indy games that have native Mac versions, ScummVM and DosBox based stuff and CD:PR's own games would make great candidates and it seems crazy that you have to go to Steam to get the Mac/PC combo and can only get the PC version here....

In fact it's crazier than that even - you're better off buying the games on Steam instead of direct from here since you get both the PC and Mac versions and can still register them for the DRM-free version here....

When TW2 was announced for Mac I really though one of the big GOG.com announcements would be the start of Mac support.....
I've been using Macs my whole life. Yes, since before they were cool! (So hipster!)

Back in 1994 you had almost no games. I pretty much grew up with educational games (plenty of those on the Mac), and Myst.

Recently I've given up on Mac gaming. I've installed BootCamp and I am now running Windows on my Mac whenever I want to play a game.

The The Witcher 1 port is absolutely abysmal. I really hope they get their act together and make an amazing TW2 edition.

Same here. Though I gave my Mac a permanent boot around New Year's; it was getting on in age anyhow. So I got myself a Windows lappie. Nothing fancy, but it works great for most of GOG's offerings.

Say what you will, but Windows has been and will be the best platform for PC gaming. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I still use my Mac for everything else, just not for gaming.
Just take a look at the Steam version for Mac. It's horrible.

I've got nothing against Macs. I still think OS X is the best OS out there, but since I primarily use my computers for entertainment purposes Windows is ultimately a better fit for me. I must say Windows 7 has quite grown on me, even if that sleep mode takes forever and a day to kick in. I also didn't feel like throwing money at Apple anymore for their horribly overpriced computers.

I feel you when it comes down to their pricing.

The Os is very cheap though, so it's somewhat compensated. I have to use them because I do daily editing in Final Cut Pro.
Really not a Mac fan. I support a bunch of them at work (admittedly in a primarily Windows environment) and they do not play nicely with others. I imagine they're fine at home, but so's a much cheaper Windows PC. They just don't bring anything to the table as far as I'm concerned...

GOG's got plenty of love for the Mac - it's just an under-the-table, behind-the-door-in-a-back-alley kind of love. It's the sort of love which means you need an [url=http://wineskin.doh123.com/]layer of to [url=http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/gog_games_on_mac_os_x_a_how_to/page1]make sure you can get close to the ones you love.

Oh come on that's a BS way of putting it - you might as well say GOG has plenty of love for Linux .....

BS? Hardly. Unless you have an effective way of dealing with all of the challenges with distributing Mac versions of their titles, then it's hardly the cut-and-dry trivial task that so many people seem to think. Even with The Witcher 2 and their indie titles. Unless you can think of some magical way that CDPR/GOG can add the ability to fully support a second (or third!) software platform with little-to-no additional cost, I don't see the current state of their platform support changing anytime soon.

And you know what? I don't care. With little to moderate time investment, I can get a huge amount of GOG's games to work perfectly on my Mac, all for free if I decide to eschew CrossOver for WIneskin.

As for GOG's indie releases, if you're that hung up on Mac support, why don't you just buy them direct from the developer? Many of them already offer their games DRM free. A lot of them already sell Mac versions. If you're a Mac user and want to support GOG and what they do, then you can choose from the wide variety of games which work in DOSBox/ScummVM or WINE. If you want to support indie devs too, then buy directly from their site. Either way, your money is going to support a positive cause in gaming. So why the complaining?

- you might as well say GOG has plenty of love for Linux .....
...which they do. :)

They have already built and tested TW1 for Mac....

All they have to do is have the dmg image available for download as an 'additional materials' item...

I'm actually a Linux guy primarily with a Windows machine for gaming....

Their lack of Mac support doesn't directly affect me - I just call crazy bizzare situations when I see them...
