nondeplumage: I think in this instance SWAT Kats may be more appropriate.
Best fucking show ever. Their flying car thing was the most badass thing.

And another one where the studio is dicking us over in not giving us a release of the show. We're getting screwed in every entertainment medium!

The correct response to this question, in all cases, is "how many lawyers can you afford?"

All cases.

All I need is one. Lawyer Daggett.
EA is one issue.

The game being annoying to get running on Windows 7 is another. I believe you have to use someone's engine conversion, last I checked, which GOG would have to ask for. Same with Thief and Thief 2.
This is a great example of being being optimistic about the digital age meaning no information will ever be lost.
Not allowing GOG to do System shock would be a dumb move.

By not selling the licence to GOG they'll force less technically inclinded fans into piracy.

It's like: do you want some pie or no pie?

GameRager: Theif runs fine for me on Vista.....i'm betting it'll also run fine on 7.
Thief and Thief 3 run fine for me on 7. Thief 2 however I remember being a problem.

The biggest problem with the dark engine is that it will crash unless you set the affinity to a single processor core.
Unless I'm missing something, and I'd hope I'm not since I've looked, I don't believe anybody is selling System Shock. It's popular as hell, and not even a name as big as Steam has it. I'd expect it to show up there before it shows up on GOG, it'd be incredibly surprising if GOG managed to procure the rights before anybody else.

...but yeah, none of the other digital download stores have it either, and I'm sure they're all trying pretty hard to get it, since they all know the first store that can get it is going to get tens of thousands of purchases, and that's being modest.

I don't think anybody has to even ask about this series anymore. There's not much more that can be done that hasn't already been done, we (not just GOG, all of the internet who wishes to purchase System Shock 2) have just got to wait for EA to finally crack and, *gasp*, give people what they want.
Maybe GOG could accidently leave an email address for someone High up at EA around and we can bombard it with requests?
IMHO, EA is just playing hard to get, building up interest. They will eventually release it somewhere where they smell the best money, it always about the money, nothing else

Bump! BRING IT TO US WE WILL PAY WHATEVER YOU WANT!
Well this was a useless thread, wasn't it.
This thread might come back to life now they've finally done Thief 1 and 2...

Means System Shock 2 is at least a possibility now woo!
