twitter is a microblogger that allows you to communicate with a wide audience (if they follow you) via text message from your phone or the web (by going to their website) there are a few applications for Adobe Air (which is what the GOG downloader uses) that make microblogging much easier.

I see Twitter more of a place where I can dump all the amusing links I find so my friends can see them
