edit: oh, I found them ^^ They're in a folder called [some numbers] Installer Groupees in your Downloads, if you have it like that, fyi.

Since I ended up answering my own question within seconds of posting this thread (lol), I thought I put it to good use with another question-- How do I find out if some game offers a standalone installer on Desura?

Namely, these are the Desura games I am interested in: http://flyingbundle.com/

For example, I have the game Roaming Fortress, and I know that it has a standalone installer available when I go to the store page after logging in, but I don't see any indication of such a thing when I am logged out. Is there no way to find out if games on Desura give you a standalone installer before you buy them?

Are there any games on Desura that don't have a standalone installer except the ones that require Steam to run (which is stated above the "Buy"-button)? Think I've never encountered one.

Well, here is the thing. Desura is kinda mum on that. It does mention when a game requires Steam to run, but it doesn't mention if a game requires some kind of other online activation. Mount & Blade comes to mind as a game that does require online activation, but there is no mention of it on the game's page.

I don't think there's a way to know unless you buy the game, or otherwise check the forums and reviews. Many discussions in reviews for a game mention whether it has a DRM-free download or not.

At this point, I am inclined to agree with Grargar on this, but yeah, two games I can think of are Shadowground and Shadowground Survivor.

edit: couldn't find anything either, going to hope Desura is less lame about this in the future and tell us if games have standalone installers before you buy them!

Wait! the old, missing downloads from the 1C groupee are finally back up!
COOL! When did this happen?
But now I want a Steam key for El Matador now it's been added over there
(I feel like I want to say 'hash tag' 'never satisfied' but I'm resisting)
