It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I don't remember that much but I'm pretty sure it was in 2006 since I had started using the Internet for the first time.
Pretty much every day, about 30 seconds after I turn on my pc.
I went to an internet summer course, that was the first time. I started using it as normal at university.
I first saw the Internet in action in 1996-1997 (I was 8 years old at the time). It was on a good old dial up modem and yet, it felt magical.

My parents got an internet access a couple of years later (1999, I think). I remember tying up the phone line for hours trying to download a 3 MB video clip of Dragon Ball Z and viewing some fan-sites.
Around 1996 probably, with Compuserve I think.
And of course BBS' before that.
Hmm... I was actually in Saudi Arabia thanks to the Army, so it must have been 96 or 97. However, I didn't get my own connection until 2000.
Yesterday I think.
It is still mysterious thing to me.
First time I used the net at all would have been something like 1994 in an IT class at school - and it was crap at the time - though its now crap in a different way.
I started using the net now and then around 2003 and more regularly as of 2005 - though this was mostly free access given to me in a bar / net cafe my mates ran.
I've only had internet myself for about four years I think!
1994 or 1995.
My first experience with the internet was using Prodigy, around 1990. I think we were using a 14.4 kbit/s modem at the time.
1997, using a 56k ISDN connection.

Usenet, the (relatively) early web, useless Javascript clocks, flashing GIF's that clashed horribly with the page's background. Altavista and Babelfish were the kings rather than Google and Google Translate.

Internet Explorer on Windows 3.1. Yeah. Until father got his own computer with Windows 98, to replace the work-issued one.

My own machines were not connected until 2000, when I moved back to my mother's, was given a 28.8k modem and started using a subscription-free service.

I had been building web sites since 1994 or '95 though (when I got a 30-day trial version of Claris Homepage with a computer magazine - that I subsequently cracked).
I remember I would spend a lot of time reading previews of Zelda OoT when I first got internet, so 1998
I think I was 16, so 1996. My mom got dial-up and I remember waiting forever just to see naked girl pictures. She probably should have been policing the computer.

I don't think I used it much until 2005 or so though. I never used forums, never chat, none of that stuff. Around 2005 I got broadband and my social life calmed down and I started putting a lot of time into being online. I kind of hate it, honestly, but it's so addictive. I have made great strides in toning down my online time lately though.
1996 and as someone else mentioned Bulletin Board Services before that.

I was roughly age 22 when I first saw the net through a NetScape browser.
First instance would be in 1996. 14.4Kbps modem with a 30 minute timeout session to get the latest questions for a school assignment. The printer broke so I had to rush to write the questions down before it timed out.

First real usage of it though would probably be 1998 on a school computer. Back then it was so awesome going to IGN to read game reviews. Sure beat the magazine approach.
