My avatar is a crop from the banner on my web page. I put it together because I wanted to write my own reviews for games, and the games I wanted to write about were *way* old.
There's an economic school of thought called "The Long Tail" that believes that even though sales of a thing go down over time, there can still be a lot of interest in the thing over long periods of time. That long interest can overshadow the initial spike in sales when a thing first comes out. If you graph it, it looks like a long tail stretching away, and that long tail is where the real market for a thing is.
I wanted to bring that graph and my love of old school gaming together. I noticed that the classic Atari joystick + cable had the same shape as a long tail graph. Ergo, my avatar.

My avatar is Ermac from Mortal Kombat series. I had an avatar of Sub-Zero (also from Mortal Kombat) but I changed it to Ermac. He's one of my favourite video game characters.

It came with my account, and I'm too lazy to get a more personalized one.

Original War was the first game I bought from GOG and I enjoyed it, so I just cropped McMillan off a screenshot and put him there. It's not like I try to be original when choosing avatars, so it's kind of ironic.

It's the cover of the best album in the world ever.

Since my original post here was about my old avatar, I'll make a new one.
My current avatar is from the cover art of the one of the best games in history, the C64 version of Wizball, and it's... Well, the Wizball. I didn't cut it out of the image myself, I found the avatar on Google image search, IIRC.

Well, I typically change mine now and again, but this one is my character in the game Ryzom. My name is Fiia in the game, and if you are wondering you can get a free 3 week trial of the game.

I knew it, loved that game. I use to play that and Captain Comic for hours.

It is me playing my guitar at a local pub, cropped to eliminate any incriminating evidence or identifying marks.
