tinyE: EASY...Myst.
100+ hours in and was still stuck on the first puzzle. I rest my case!
kekorangar: thanks for the reply. sorry i was not very specific on my 1st post, im kinda looking for 2d graphics like on beneath a steel sky, leisure suit larry, etc etc. wherein i can see my character and its sort of like cartoonish.
Fever_Discordia: I highly doubt that any point and click game contains 100 hours of content, 15-20 tops
I recommend Broken Sword though because of all the locations you visit around the world - makes it seem pretty epic!
kekorangar: ive played all broken sword games except for the last one (the one with 3D graphics). thanks for the reply
.freddy pharkas frontier pharmacist It's made by the same guy who made the leisure suit larry games
so it sounds right up your alley
lots of pooh jokes in this one :P
It's definitely not 100 hours of game play but it at least a normal length adventure game
ringworld & return to ringworld these are definitely not 100 hours of game play but if you put both games together they'd be considered long
So blonde I kind of hated myself for playing this one :P but it lasted a while. Maybe that's just because I dreaded playing it so much. It was pretty girly. although I should give it more credit. It can definitely be enjoyed by anyone not just girls
if you really want long game play
line up all of the nancy drew games ever made and play them all in a row
that would last you a long time since there's over 20 of them
Master of dimensions I don't remember how long this one was but I remember really enjoying it so I'm recommending it either way
the adventures of down under dan This one will get you some good game play time because of it's difficulty.
You HAVE to run this one in virtual pc though I think.. or dosbox if you can get windows 3.1 working in it.
If I remember correctly it was windows 3.1 that got it working.
Windows 95 usually works for everything as well so that's what I'd try.
wrath of the gods A lesser known sierra game
about greek mythology
average game play time but you'll get nostalgic playing it so it's worth a play.
the original lucas arts games were pretty long
(not talking about the telltale ones)
.day of the tentacle .sam and max hit the road .maniac mansion zak mckracken and the alien mindbenders etc
most of the benoit sokal games are pretty long although not cartoony
.syberia and syberia II .sinking island .paradise .amerzone I highly recommend playing any of the jules verne games (NOT THE HIDDEN OBJECT ONES)
they aren't cartoonly but they use the classic point and click game interface only it's better because there's more object combining and you can disassemble objects as well.
.return to mysterious island .return to mysterious island 2 .mystery of the nautilus (buy the iphone/ipad version because the original disk is impossible to get working)
.voyage journey to the moon .journey to the center of the earth .rex nebulator and the cosmic gender bender this one isn't long if you use a walkthrough but if you don't it'll give you some good game play time because of it's difficultly. Plus it has beneath a steel sky era graphics like you were talking about.
.Universe this one is definitely not long, but again it has beneath a steel sky style graphics and it's pretty difficult so you'll like it.
.gemini rue don't remember how long it was but it was a good game
.lost horizon .the book of unwritten tales .the critter chronicles .synnergist (you may need virtual pc to play this one again. I'd suggest trying windows 95 first)
though these are myst style 1st person games they take some time to beat so worth mentioning: .lighthouse: the dark being (sierra game.. has an inventory mostly object usage like most point and click games instead of puzzles.. it takes a while to beat because if you make a mistake at the beginning you'll have to start over.. Still very much worth playing. it's a classic)
.Biosys (incredibly hard. your character gets hungry, thirsty, plus you have to manage the biosphere's you're in so they don't die, and you have a limited amount of time to finish the game. kind of interrupts the pace of the adventure but it's still really fantastic.. SOMEONE SHOULD RE-RELEASE IT WITHOUT THE STUPID TIME LIMIT.. or make it so time only passes when you move from area to area instead of when you're standing still)
.morpheus great game although the graphics aren't that great for a 1st person one
anyways, there are thousands out there
none of them ever take 100 hours to beat though
you only see that in rpg's
