coming soon from EA:
War and Peace: the survival horror
Angela's Ashes: the first person shooter
Catcher in the Rye: the real time strategy
I, for one, would enjoy seeing a MMORPG based on Pride & Prejudice
My biggest problem with this game is "why?" I've never ever heard someone say: "That story seriously needs a game adaptation!!"
What's next an action movie about baking bread?

I believe Postal 2 already exists.

EXACTLY my take on it...I just don't see who the audience is.

people who don't know any better. There's the target market.
it worked for halo
It would be possible to make a game based on the Inferno, even an action game, but it should not be set in Inferno. It could be, for example, about a spy who moves deeper and deeper into the metaphorical abyss until he is knocked head-over-heels by the final, life-changing encounter. It could even be a trilogy. In the second game, having overcome his inner demons and the outer bad guys, the spy struggles to redeem himself and piece together the true nature of what he is up against (Purgatorio); and in the third game, he sets everything right (Paradiso).
But yes, and action game set in Inferno itself sounds stupid at best.
Well, continuing with the "What the HELL?!" trend, Ubisoft has now announced that they're making a game based on the TV show Grey's Anatomy. What the possible concept of the game could even be, I have no idea.

One can only assume that the purpose of the game is to make out with as many of the hot interns and surgeons as possible ;-)

Hey, you know that there's this JRPG for the 360 (Trusty Bell?) that takes Chopin's life and turns it into a video game where you play as Chopin in a fantasy world dreamed in a coma or something. WTF?
I've never read Dante's Inferno, but just like Snow Crash, I really need to get reading on these fine pieces of literature. But I think that game companies are going to start doing this more. They're going to use existing IPs and create games over it. Good or bad, that's for you to decide. This is just the beginning, my friends.

Also known as Eternal Sonata: The game world is actually a tuberculosis fueled hallucination Chopin has on his deathbed. You don't so much play Chopin as you do have him in your cast of characters along with the fully fictional characters that make up the majority of the cast.
