Enclave isn't back up yet, but he has filed a counter claim. Apparently it was Needo Designs, which happens to be the company owned by the Sunski folks. The same ones that accused Enclave of ripping off their designs despite using a generic shape and completely different materials.

As far as I can tell this is sour grapes stuff because Enclave Eyewear is releasing better quality sunglasses at the same point, has more customer support and more orders already.

But, the paper work is in and so things should be up and running again soon.

Needless to say, regardless of how this all shakes out, I won't be buying Sunskis ever.

spindown: Star Trek: Renegades

A crowd-sourced pilot episode for a new Star Trek (web?) series. Made by some actual Star Trek people like Tim Russ and Walter Koenig.
They lost me at "dark and edgy". Still probably worth $1-$10 for the Star Trek nostalgia. Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting. I thought "Of Gods and Men" was more than a little cheesy but still fun. I might even back this further down the line. The project still has 59 days to get funded. Should be able to back this after my pledge for PE has transferred to Kickstarter.
Arakion's been making slow-but-steady progress. 8 days left and less than 6k to go. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lavidimus/chris-taylors-arakion Looks like we won't hit the stretches, sadly, but we should hit funding, at least.
Didn't see Nexus2 (sequel to Nexus: The Jupiter Incident) mentioned here:

I hope they reach the goal. $650k is a bit too much. If they don't hit that, man there will be heads to crack...

Heh. That probably explains the recent Nexus promo and mod article around here.

Here is the Tech demo they're talking about in the video.
Arakion update with lots of info: Battlemage class, character specializations, pets, character aesthetics. Check it out! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lavidimus/chris-taylors-arakion/posts/317904?ref=email&show_token=97513128b252281b
Arakion is looking very good and is almost at 20K

Edit: just achieved 20K (80%), only 5K to go.

Pro Pinball have released an update with two renders (one of a planned table, the other of one element - the flasher) to show the detail they plan to include in their remastering.

You could probably make your own machine with a 3D printer and those sort of renders.

Yeah, I think it will reach funding. Probably won't reach stretches, though. :/ Hopefully Chris will implement a Paypal preorder after the KS ends to continue acquiring monays.

When someone decides to take a franchise in a "grittier" direction, I translate that into "jump the shark". Of the few examples where that actually works would be Batman, but the odds of Star Trek: Renegade succeeding feels...middling? I will watch the kickstarter and make up my mind later about whether or not to pledge.
