A (not so) glorious failure: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fuck-you-all?c=home
I understand the frustration when it comes to this stuff, but really? This is kind of taking it a little too far as far as I'm seeing it. The pitch video really isn't that great from the looks of it.

EDIT: And now the page is gone.

At least IndieGoGo is fast to act when someone is violating the rules, Kicstarter not so much, lots of people reported that "9 year old RPG" scam and the page is working...

the 9 year old RPG is possibly more of a difficult case to draw a line on (plus the person in charge having rather deep pockets might mean that KS doesn't want to hit the bees nest themselves!) Meanwhile the ranting in the now closed Indiegogo is a much easier thing to draw a line on (plus it was an ended fundraiser).

Still haven't tried the prototype but this looks really interesting.

Kickstarter responded through CNET that it does fit the guidelines.

Annoying, but it fits the other college student projects.

I wasn't going to back it either way.

But, the project is probably a violation of the ToS either way. KS is not for funding lifestyles and as such this was a bit of a stretch in the first place. And it's definitely questionable judgment to use her brothers in such a way. And definitely suspicious that the $10k donation slot was there.

I can see both sides on this, I wasn't going to fund it either way, but I think that labelling all those folks as trolls is a bit questionable. There's very obvious sexism involved in the campaign, and dismissing the complaints about that as trolling, is a bit of a stretch. Though, some probably are using that to troll.
Personally, I think anything goes is fine when it comes to people trying their hand at kickstarter. After all, people can back out of projects before the deadline if it becomes apparent that the project can't deliver or is nefarious in nature. The system self-regulates, because people are interested in saving their money for worthwhile things. Be it through personal judgment or the wisdom of the crowd, it is less likely that a bad wager would be made.

Nothing for me. After an unsatisfying ending of DD and the totally screwed up and infuriating ending of Divinity 2 Ego Draconis I've lost the trust that Larian Studios are able to tell a decent story. So they won't get any advance money from me.
