While I have a soft spot for the original Playstation since it was the first game console I touched and the PS3 has more feature wise, I will have to say the PS2 is the best in the Playstation line of consoles. It is fully backwards compatible with PS1 games, has a fantastic game library of its own, and at the time, it had a DVD player that was pretty good which admittedly was the first DVD player I used.
PSX
I'll go with the fresh launch of PS3... before they ruined it by removing backwards compatibility, taking away linux support, and showing horrible support during the hack.

Before those self inflicted catastrophes, the PS3 was not only the best PS console... its was simply the best console.

That's debatable.
As much as I love my PS3, I'd have to say that Sony really didn't do themselves any favors with developers with a system architecture that vaguely resembles a two-headed cow, so PS2.
I always preferred the original PlayStation, but I'm gonna have to vote PS2.
I still have my old PsOne console stashed away in my cupboard, which is the only console that I've ever bought for myself, (If I don't count the Sega Megadrive that I got from my parents for Christmas when I was 8) so I guess I'll go with that.
ps2 hands down
I'm going to go with PS4 since it will be the first Playstation I'll actually own. I haven't owned a console since the N64.
The PS2 is my favorite console ever, on account of having the biggest amount of great games that I played.
I am going with PSP - If I have to choose a console then PS2
