MaridAudran: Ah, my mistake. But well done. Good to see some Aaron Sorkin fans around here.
DarkoD13: I haven't really watched the show, I just recognized Huffman and Krause and used wikipedia... :)
I do like Sorkin, though. Eagerly waiting for Season 2 of Newsroom.
Is Sports Night worth a watch?
Yes. In both format and the inter-personal dynamic between characters,
The Newsroom is closest to
Sports Night, Sorkin's breakout show. The witty banter, the crisises of conscience, the moments of pathos are all there. Obviously the context is different in that it's a behind-the-scenes drama of a fictional cable sports reporting type show, instead of an MSNBC-type cable news show, but I loved it, and I can't stand sports (aside from Tennis). It was made before Aaron Sorkin became
AARON SORKIN (C), and has its own charm. Unfortunately NBC didn't know what the hell to do with it so it sunk after 2 short and sweet seasons. I caught it on re-runs on Comedy Central in the States (which is a bit of an irony).
I'm eagerly awaiting season 2 of
The Newsroom myself. Thought I was the only one!
