Doing the running man, robot and countless other outdated dances
Waiting in line
Sitting down in a movie theater to only watch a trailer repeat forever
More waiting in line
Never getting the chance to play pool, use any of the arcade machines or go bowling
Giving money to Sony
Getting surrounded by advertising that's even more heavy-handed than in the real world
Rounding a bunch of friends together to collectively escape a game that's fun and worth your time
Did I mention the f**king lines?
troll response:
I don't spend much time at home, I mean, I have a life, I go out and do things.
real response:
I don't have a ps3, but I don't really think that a second life for consoles is that great, apparently there are a lot of pervs on there who chase after female avatars as if they were deer.. is that really a lot I'd want to hang out with? no.
It's the same reason I don't play games of Counter Strike or Halo, because of childish fools who have nothing better to say other than racist or sexist comments because it makes them feel big.
I mean, it's a neat idea, but even I wouldn't use it. I mean, usually the bowling alleys are full anyway, right?
Well, one final note, my friends Xbox 360 red ringed a couple months ago, and he has a PS3.
During the time it was taking for him to get his replacement from Microsoft, he played PC games instead, and this friend of mine has the top notch titles for it, he spends money on these kinds of things all the time.
I just can't see how an mmo-prelude to a game is a good idea, I'm sorry.
Also, if I did buy a PS3, which I probably will eventually (I don't hate the system), I'd probably sand it down, for some reason those suckers attract a lot of dust and I figure it's gotta be the gloss mixed with the fan, if it had a better texture, it'd probably be less dusty.
I fall asleep while wondering which of my 500 systems I just unplugged to plug in my PS3, then I wake up later and forget I even planned on playing anything, much less doing anything on Home.
I watch TV for thirty minutes then play Heroes of Might and Magic III for an hour. After that I sit staring at the wall thinking of what I could do next, I call my girlfriend and ask if she's doing anything, but then I remember that she's in Arizona for a college visit, so I start texting her pictures of my friend's shoes and writing beneath it "Turtles are cold blooded creatures."
She doesn't respond in the next thirty minutes so I become bored and sit in front of my TV thinking about which game to play next.

I agree that it's a neat idea. It's just that it feels like it could be so much better.
There's simply nothing there yet. The engine itself seems fine and hopefully Sony will
1. Create larger areas
2. Create things to actually do, like watching movies with friends (you buy a a ticket for a buck or maybe two, then you can watch the movie and if you like chat with a friend)
3. Create some real added value for gamers. Like special tools for planning, discussion areas for LBP, where people can personally show their designs and so on. Simple move-object-a-to-b-12 type level editors for shooters maybe.
If there's something to actually do, I'll use it.

I'm that guy.
It makes me feel big.
It wasn't fun for me, so I ended up not spending too much time. I had this one guy decide to restart the bowling games over and over because he was "trying to get 300".
Honestly I have deleted HOME some time ago. The only fun thing to do was playing draughts or chess, but whenever I would win the person I was playing with would quit. I guess people are sore losers. I always took my defeat with dignity and mute my mic when I was weeping like a little girl. end.joke
Home is just another Sony prestige project, without any further thought into its usefulness.
i have a ps3, never tried it yet.
When the big corps on the whole will realize that Second Life-alike words aren't the future (contrariwise to all the bullshits someone is spreading in these years) will be too late anyway. I hope all this meaningless efforts will contribute to kill SCE boldness, so they can return to video games instead of throwing this crap to videogamers.
