One of my fond memories from childhood was playing the NES and Super NES with my siblings and parents. Even though they weren't originally fond of video game consoles, they eventually became fans of them just like myself. We'd take turns playing Duck Hunt or Super Mario Bros. As time went on we even played some of the popular SNES fighting games competitively against each other. Now that's changed and we're all much older, but I can't help but wonder what are some games that gamers would consider "family friendly". These games would be great to play as a family and would make video game time family time as well. Are there any particular video games that members of your family play together? I'd like it if you were willing to share them with everyone here.
What platform(s) are we talking about here?
The series that has always been family friendly and I grew up with is King's Quest. This is family friendly where the family can work together wtih solving the puzzles and mini-quests. I have found memories of playing these games with my family as I grew up.

You can get all of the games here on GOG for $9.99 each set. The address for the games are as follows:

If you use GG, you should buy the Streets of Rage games, they're DRM-free and pretty cheap too. From GOG, I would recommend the Heroes of Might and Magic games(the first 3), as you can play them in hot-seat, so you only need 1 computer.

A lot of Mario Kart, Mario Party, and Gauntlet Dark Legacy. Guitar Hero and Sing Star. Also, Super Mario World and Mortal Kombat II, because we still have our SNES.
IF I was looking for family fun on a console game, I would choose WII sports, bowling and boxing is allot of fun at my house, For table top I choose DnD box set games. you can play one of those adventures on your table much like a 3d board game. For PC I would try a point and click adventure. getting everyone involved in solving puzzles is always fun.
Hope this helps
