FoxZero: Gotta be a really efficient killer lol
*rolls eyes*
1. Stay off roads
2. Walk and sprint instead of driving (unless it's the road between the first city and the merc bar)
3. Move long distances during night. Ideally set off at sunset.
4. Use only silenced guns and the DLC crossbow.
Voila. FC2 becomes a tour across scenic vistas with very brief encounters of the violent kind.

Hey at least I come out on top, many bullets and health kits later. lol

I originally played the game on Normal setting when it came out, and brute force tactics worked fine. I would just tap C and man the 50 BMG, and drop a few shots into my attackers. On Hardcore by the time I climb to the back of my truck half my health is gone.

Yesterday after my vehicle got shot up I realized running place to place doesn't take that much longer. The cars move freakishly slow in this game.
So for someone who's never played a tactical shooter, are Rainbow 6 or Ghost Recon good? Would you recommend either of them?

I liked very much Rainbow 6, one of my favorites at that time...spent many hours playing it. Didn't buy at this time because this version is not in my language, but I recommend it.

I played Ghost Recon on the Playstation way back when, and loved it. Over last Winter, I broke it out again, and played through, and enjoyed all over again. Can't tell you what it's like on the 'puter though, but was a fun game on the console...

Me too... and I already have them on disc. Next step is to try to make them multilingual with data from my discs.

At least, that's the next step for me. Next step for GOG.com is to bring the other 3 PoPs here !

As a non-tactical shooter fan (except Hidden & Dangerous), I didn't understand the fuss around Ghost Recon - I thought it was ok but nothing special. Maybe it had great realism (for the time)? or great multiplayer.
Incidentally, Rainbow strikes me as a silly name for a covert squad. I imagine they work in tandem with the infiltration squad, Really Loud Noise.
