FTL: Faster Than Light, Expeditions: Conquistador, Reus, Age of Wonders series, and more games to challenge your wits 50% off!

Even though mainstream media like to present it so, gaming is not all about action, violence, giggles, and occasional cinematic experience. There are many computer games that inspire analytic thinking, attention to detail, and careful planning with their deep and complex gameplay. Strategy games, management games, puzzle games--all of them challenging your brain to work better, faster, and stronger. It's a real Thinking Gamer's Delight! This weekend, we've selected a dozen games that follow this pattern, and discounted them by (5^2)*2 percent! Let's take a look at some of them, shall we?

There's no need to introduce FTL: Faster Than Light, right? Well then, let's focus on a title that hasn't ever been discounted: Expeditions: Conquistador! This charming indie title puts you in command of a small expedition party and presents with gameplay mixing RPG with strategic resource management, turn-based combat, and choose-your-own-adventure elements. Now, for only $9.99!

Expeditions: Conquistador trailer

Reus is a unique environmental puzzle game with charming 2D graphics, amazing complexity, and a strong god-game feeling. You'll be tasked with creating stable and thriving ecosystems by matching various mutually dependent tiles in the much limited space that the surface of your little planet provides. There's a lot of effects to discover and the amount of unlockable features will greatly motivate you to continue playing through gradually more difficult stages.

Discover one of the all-time favorite fantastic strategy epics with Age of Wonders, Age of Wonders 2: The Wizard's Throne, and the most recent title in the series Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic, which offers virtually infinite playtime with its random map generator feature. If you like turn-based strategy games following the time-proven explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate scheme, but you haven't had the chance to play these games, this is a good moment to start, as Age of Wonders 3 is coming DRM-free to GOG.com!

If you get tired of thinking and would like to give your gray matter some rest, the promo also includes Overlord + Raising Hell, so you can relax a bit while your minions do most of the hard work spreading mayhem and mischief across the realm.

That's only a few of the games we've selected this weekend. Click through to the promo page to see what other intellectual challenges we have in store for you, at 50% off discount. The Thinking Gamer's Delight promo lasts until Tuesday, August 27, at 3:59AM GMT. Don't miss out!

hmm, but now I'm in a pickle... (or did I eat one?)

I wanted to trade Expeditions for my steam key for Gone Home (after I wasn't successful in trading it for Ittle Dew through Classifieds, and eventually got the game from Groupees bundle), but as I bought Expeditions now as well, I'm just going to gift the steam code to someone here...

please, take a moment, look at the website and get to know what this game is about, and if you really want to play it (it's really great exploration/story/looking-for-pieces-of-story game), PM me and it will be yours...

EDIT:
taken :o)

Fesin: Buy Expeditions: Conquistador! Now! Don't even think about it, just buy it.
My system won't run it. Are you offering me a better OS? :P
Nice selection of games. AoW is an easy pick if you're into that sort of thing.

gandalf.nho: Battle Realms looks interesting, how's the difficulty?
However you want it. There are paths you can take for your campaign that can make it harder or easier. I love RTS but I'm not very good at them, and I ADORE this one. It's different in it's mechanics but IMO for the better and the fighting animations are great; your swordsmen don't just whack away they jump and spin and flip and scream. Good stuff!

My pc is 2008, unless it's a retro/indy, anything from 2013 is bound to have terrible frame rate unless I turn the settings down to zilch. Ex. Amnesia doesn't run on my OS. I'm not sad. I've got plenty to keep me occupied.
It's not your computer, E:C is very poorly optimized, I have a 2GB GPU and it's fan starts going full bore just at the main menu.

you don't need a new OS then, you need a whole new rig! :D

just kidding, I'm sure you've got tons of games to play, the good olds are a very deep fountain (eh, what?)
I'm also in a state of "playing" about 30 games at the moment, and I don't even consider getting 80 % of today's production as it bores me...
Excellent promo! Had just wishlisted AoW on the news you're getting the third, so those are must-buys for me. Battle Realms is coming along for the ride. Thanks!

That isn't too uncommon. To fix it, use either a frame limiter (to your current monitor's hertz, usually 60) or VSync.
I just saw a beautiful trailer for AoW 3 and the most beautiful thing was at the end when I saw gog.com icon... I'm going to pre-order that one for sure!!
preferences on the better AOW? anyone?

I haven't played the first, but between the second and Shadow Magic, there's really no reason to favor the second one. I also seem to remember Shadow Magic had a better mod collection.

But then it's been a while since I played...
