Well, this is odd...

Can we have Cryostasis back for weekend at some point?

JudasIscariot: The Guild 1 is worth a purchase. That goes for you too, Tallima :D

Leroux: I don't doubt that it's a great game in its genre, but the sad thing is that the genre is my least favorite one, otherwise I'd have bought it a long time ago. I'm pretty sure that no matter how great it is, I would abandon it after a couple of hours at max, just because I'm really not into this type of gameplay. :(

But thanks for the suggestion!
I would suggest just playing a Thief as you can forego any of that building or business stuff :) There is really no strategy involved in the game in the classic strategy sense :) It's like a smaller version of Crusader Kings as you can have all kinds of intrigue, kidnapping, and more in the game but I understand this might not appeal to everyone :)

Doubtful.
Nice timing, GOG. ;P

Well, this is a pretty pickle. Games back and flat priced, but only for a limited time. Certainly gives one mixed feelings.

For now I've bought a single key containing every game that is scheduled to vanish again. Glad that you added individual redeem options to your keys. But really, I would like it much more if you just brought the games back for good.
While, as someone else already pointed out, this is likely done just so some year-end sale targets will be met and definitely taking advantage of potential customers, it would be interesting in concept if done as a rule. As in, not have games that'd otherwise need to be regionally-priced here most of the time, but keep them in a sort of suspended state and every so often have them pop up for a flat-priced sale.
It'd be three birds with one stone:
- Return to core principles.
- Allow those who have GOG keys to redeem from other places (like Kickstarter) to do so immediately.
- Give people who want those games the option of buying them here within a reasonable amount of time. Not on launch day or whenever they want otherwise, but probably within a year, which is still way sooner than what you'd have had any reason or justification to expect or demand from GOG till recently.

So reasonably good thing in itself and may have gotten a few otherwise, BUT there are those regionally-priced games left in the catalog that ruin it all. As such, on the mix they go and no thank you.

(Admittedly, when I saw the title on the front page I automatically assumed they'd need to go on Sinistar's, followed by likely the entire rest of the GOG catalog over the next few weeks probably, if this would happen.)

Grargar: Honestly, there seems to be some strange glitch at work (ORLY Grargar?!). As Buenro-games mentioned above, if you try to buy all the games together, you get a 90% discount, even for Silver. I suppose you should be getting a higher discount the more games you have (the aforementioned 85%) or a lower one if you don't have any Nordic games at all (75%).
Well, the front page also mentions 90% off. It would appear that it's a stacking promo, and it just doesn't tell us or it doesn't know itself.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: That seems to be the case; even though my promo page states "85% OFF YOUR SELECTION", the checkout page for Silver says 75%.

This section of the OP might help resolve your confusion:

Get everything you're missing at 90% off, or get a partial list with discounts on individual titles ranging from 75% - 85%.

The programmers might not have accounted for a range of individual discounts when setting up the webpage; it never occurred to me to look for that kind of thing during previous sales (have they done a mixed discount sale like this before?). I could easily see it displaying 85% as the discount because that's the first number to show up in the list (Spellforce), so it is what gets set in the discount variable.
So they still can't solve the problem permanently ? There goes any chance of seeing Harbinger here :((

The confusion I'm getting isn't from the general promo, but from Silver. Is it discounted by 75% or 85%? If it's by 75%, then why does 85% appear on the promo page? If it's by 85%, then why does the discounted price ($1.49) appear as being affected by 75%? Add the no-discount glitch for me and this damn game can cause quite a bit of confusion.

I don't think it's a stacking promo. Everything seems discounted but if you buy all at once then you get 90% off. I'm torn about getting everything or just the stuff that I really want. Especially since I bought most of the things I wanted in the first Nordic promo and now have the Spellforce games and The Guild (only 1st) to buy as a must have...

gixgox: A question about gift codes:
...
avatar
Grargar: Only one code, but if you can trust the others, you can have them redeeming only specific games from the code.
Thanks for the answer, it's not so much a question of trust, I think it's a little bit awkward to give a b-day present with the words: here are some games, but you may only take these 2, the others are x-mas gifts for for my other friend.
avatar
Zoidberg: Even if the items I didn't have interested me I'm not too sure about "investing" in games that will not be supported by anyone.

Bleargh...
avatar
JudasIscariot: We still offer support for all of our removed titles on a case-by-case basis :)
Even deliver the missing language packs?

Sorry, but I doubt it.

gixgox: A question about gift codes:
I want to buy the list with 90% off, but want to gift several games to different persons.
Will there be a code for each of the games or just one for all together?
avatar
mobutu: Unfortunately, there'll be only one code containing all games bought
Thanks, I thought I had read somewhere in the past that they had changed that rule and give a separate code for each game.

Silver, Black Mirror 1 and 2, Neighbours from Hell pack, Summoner, Nations Gold, Alien Nations, Panzer Elite and Chaser are 75%, Desperados 1 and 2 are 80%, rest are 85%, the entire pack is 90% when purchased in full. There is a glitch in the listed discount which says 85% for anything but the full pack regardless of what it actually is, but yeah...

viperfdl: Wow, I'm afraid to ask what you had to do to get those games back here...

;-p
avatar
JudasIscariot: Nothing a properly fabricated casus belli can't solve >:D

Seriously though, we asked nicely. Amazing how that works sometimes :D
Hey, don't you have something more important to do, like flagging games as updated?
