Rogue Legacy, Thunderscape, Steamworld Dig, and more indies & classics for as little as $1.79!

June Jamboree</a>With yesterday's launch of The Witcher: Wild Hunt exclusive pre-orders we've got quite a lot of new people discovering GOG.com. Hello! Welcome to your DRM-Free one-step online boutique full of gaming goodness! This here, is the June Jamboree sale, one of our weekly promos, always starting on Friday, at 10:00AM GMT and lasting throughout the whole weekend, up to Tuesday at 3:59 in the morning. With all the new faces around, we thought it would be a nice thing to mix our weekend offer a bit, so it features some neat titles both from our unsurpassed classic catalog as well as our extensive indie offer. Let's take a quick look at some of the games, shall we?

Steamworld Dig is one of the newer titles in the offer. It's a platform mining adventure with strong Metroidvanian influences. Take the role of Rusty, a lone mining steambot, as he arrives at an old mining town in great need. Dig your way through the old earth, gaining riches while uncovering the ancient threat that lurks below. Yours for only $4.99, this weekend!

Thunderscape is one of the golden classics from the good old days. It presents you with many time-proven RPG ideas that work together so well, that it's astounding that anyone would want to modify them. You get a party of six brave champions, a large gameworld to explore, lots of items to collect, stats to build, and enemies to slay. With everything that made dungeon crawlers so successful in the 1990 and some very distinctive steampunk-ish feel, this game is highly recommended to all cRPG fans looking for a challenge. Now, only $1.79!

Finally, Rogue Legacy, an indie smash-hit of 2013, known for its insane replayability leading to severe cases of the "just-one-more-playthrough" syndrome. You will get to choose among the children to pick the character whose traits and flaws suit you the most, and continue their parent's quest retaining the stat bonuses and equipment they managed to secure. A difficult, challenging, but extremely rewarding and fun! Only $4.99 until Tuesday!

That's only a small part of our June Jamboree weekend offer. There's 16 more exciting titles, new and old, waiting to be discovered in the promo page. They will tempt you with their ridiculously low prices only until Tuesday, June 10, at 3:59AM GMT, so don't miss out!

Niggles: Is Postal Classic or Postal 2 the better game
?
I prefer 2, myself.
I guess it is time I welcome Another World to my collection, after these 20+ years old Amiga days.. :)
Any more comments on these?

phaolo: Hey, can you tell me something about these please:
- Conquest: Frontier Wars -> average or worthy?
- Scratches Director's Cut -> good or great?
- Swapper -> seems nice, but I fear it's overrated
- Steamworld Dig -> is it like Spelunky? Better \ worse?
- Depths of Peril -> is it better than Darkstone?
I'll go ahead and comment on Depths of Peril as I think I know that game well enough to be able to talk about it :)

Depths of Peril is an interesting game on a technical level as it boasts both the diplomatic elements found in Drox Operative and the dungeon crawling parts of Din's Curse.

Gameplaywise, you have a lot of abilities at your disposal and you can almost play the game kind of like WoW i.e. use your abilities at the right time.

The game takes place in a somewhat huge overworld with some light dungeon diving. Don't let the huge overworld scare you as you have teleporters you can find and activate and use them to move around more quickly especially when you have a quest that takes you somewhere about 5 "sections" away.

Another interesting bit is that you have some equipment that you can "equip" in your home base on a bookshelf that affects your entire faction. Your faction is you and anyone else you have recruited via a recrutiment quest. You can also take one of your faction members with you on quests while the other folks guard your home base from raids.

The diplomacy is kind of rough around the edges in the game, I'll admit, but you can still wheel and deal with the factions just fine in DoP. You can trade money, items, and even forge alliances or have agreements.

Let me know if there's anything else you need to know about DoP and I'll do my best to find out :)
Anyone have anything good to say about Conquest: Frontier Wars? It seems to have some good reviews, but the story and game play look pretty generic from what I can gather. Anyone have any more input on this one?

You're welcome :)

I would provide info on Conquest: Frontier Wars but strategy games aren't my thing, generally speaking. Sorry :(

I suppose that The Guild isn't a "generally speaking" thing, right? :D

The Guild is a unique game, in my mind :) It's not really a strategy game per se, it's more of a sneaky bastard simulator/trainer :P

"Sneaky bastard simulator" is too wordy for our category widget on the game card :D
Also, I already own the 15th Anniversary Edition on disc with all the extras - can anyone tell me what makes the 20th Anniversary Edition worthwhile?
About Conquest Frontier Wars I found this important problem in a (still very positive) review:

There are a few weaknesses in supply system otherwise effective approach. For starters, the emphasis on supply lines can slow the game to a snail's pace. During some of the challenging later sorties, you'll spend more time twiddling your thumbs resupplying your ships in dry dock than blasting away at the enemy in a firefight. Some mission design is also a little tedious. Planets are occasionally used as mere stepping stones, requiring you to inch across a sector with too much repetitive base building and resource gathering, and too little action. Still, although you might yawn occasionally, you won't stop playing.

I was thinking about picking up Rune Classic, can anyone who has played it tell me how it is? I like Norse stuff...

It plays a bit like a lighter version of Blade of Darkness. The game has some light puzzles such as finding switches or figuring out how to get somewhere but nothing too hard.

Besides, you get to recover health by eating lizards, hack off your enemies' limbs, and be a badass Viking dude :)
Nice promo. I've been waiting quite awhile for Another World to go on sale.
Does anyone know if Fist Puncher supports a wider array of controllers now or if the issue of certain controllers not working continues, even when using controller support programs?
