Some weeks are just too good to be real. We’ve just released a slew of well-loved classics in the last 7 days, and now we’re wrapping up the with a bang! [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/interplay_blast]The Interplay Blast weekend promo marks the beginning of equally amazing weekend with 32 games that are too good to refuse, too good to put down, and too classic to not be familiar with, especially when offered for only $2.99 each!

Starting with probably the most recognizable post-apocalyptic franchise in gaming history--Fallout series. Some of you might remember that GOG.com sported a fairly decent giveaway just a week ago. If you own Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game, you might be interested in getting Fallout 2, which took the vast, post-apocalyptic world and enriched it further with more NPCs, more quests, more weapons, and more quirky perks. Fallout Tactics took the series in a different direction, and is a challenging and fun tactical squad-based strategies with Impressive number of weapons, skills and upgrades soaking in wasteland climate. You will be pleased to find out that all Fallout games are $2.99.

The Freespace series offers something special for simulator-fans with fast-paced action, dynamic flight model, well-made missions, and a gripping story full of epic space battles and plot twists. Both games are considered to be the some of the best space simulators in all the galaxies we’ve known so far. Freespace 2 is probably superior (as one of our users handsomely named it ‘The Pinnacle of Space Combat’) mainly due to beautiful graphics, improved space ships and missions, and enormous modding possibility. Both Freespace + Expansion and Freespace 2 are available for $2.99, this weekend only on GOG.com.

For action fans, yours truly has prepared and [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/mdk_2]MDK2, two third-person shooters that are among of the greatest and most memorable action games of all time. MDK offers fun and addictive gameplay, filled with humor - a trademark of games by Shiny Entertainment. The Bioware-made sequel featured even more action and humor than in the original, especially when you play as Max, a cigar smoking, quad gun toting demolition squad of a dog.

Loads of good humor and fun describe another action series you can buy with a 50% discount this weekend only on GOG.com: Earthworm Jim. The story: The evil Psy-Crow was transporting a super suit, built by the genius Professor Monkey-For-A-Head, to Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Pus-Filled, Malformed, Slug-For-A-Butt, but along the way it was stolen by a rebel. Although Psy-Crow killed the rebel, the suit fell down to Earth, landing on an earthworm. That cosmic twist of fate placed Jim in control of an ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-cyber-suit. That’s right, you can pick up Earthworm Jim 1+2, which diverse levels and gameplay modes that provide an unmatched platforming experience and Earthworm Jim 3D, which features pig-surfing. Both Earthworm Jim games are available for only $2.99.

There are more than 30 different games from Interplay that we’re selling at discounted price this weekend, including (but not limited to) amazing RPG , indescribable and one of the most original games ever created [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/giants_citizen_kabuto]Giants Citizen Kabuto, totally unique action strategy , and a fantastic FPS collection: [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/shogo_mobile_armor_division]SHOGO: Mobile Armor Division, , [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/kingpin_life_of_crime]Kingpin: Life of Crime and Redneck Rampage Collection. This promo ends next Monday, April 16 on 11.59 p.m. EDT
I like how they couldn't think of anything good to say about Earthworm Jim 3D, so they just said "EWJ1 and 2 are freeking awesome, and oh, yeah, EWJ3D, oh, that features pig-surfing."
Wish I had any money to buy MDK, or at least the ability to know they were gonna release Theme Hospital and do this sale.

scriptbr: I can't decide if I get Giants:Citizen Kabuto, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics or Shogo: Mobile Division.
Out of these Fallout 2 is definitively the best, then comes Giants, then Shogo and lastly (and by all means leastly) Fallout Tactics.

ZPavelZ: Would anyone care to tell me what Giants Citizen Kabuto is all about? I tried reading the desciption, but it somehow left me even more confused than before I started.

TheWhiteRose: I played it in 2000 myself, and I never understood the story at all. It's just a crazy sci-fi shooter with great mechanics and interesting characters.
I think the story is, "Don't do drugs and write game design docs, kids!"

That said, I do love the game. Tons of fun.

Ha! Well, that settles it. I'll have to try to grab that one this weekend. :)

The moral of the story should be that this dev team gets an unlimited supply of drugs and time to create more games:)

Also, they should train other dev teams in how to properly consume drugs and turn them into pure awesome.

Finally, I sort of loathe myself for already owning this considerable list of games...

Thank you for your opinion, but is Fallout Tactics really that mediocre? I was considering getting it to decide if I kickstart Wasteland 2 or not.
So many good games, own a few of them in disc form but will probably buy them anyway here so I don't have to "fix" the ones that no longer work properly :)

PS. To anyone in doubt, Giants is awesomely awesome! It is a must buy if you haven't played it!
great promo, but got 90% of the games during stacation, will check tomorrow if any intristing ones are missing, bit hard to navigate gog on my mobile browser

maybe gog should work on a mobile site some time, thats how i do most of my browsing anyway

It is not, it's pretty decent. The story isn't up to the caliber of Fallout 1 or 2 but it's still good. Compare it to other RPGs and it's really good, compare it to Fallout 1&2 and it's subpar but then again what isn't?

Yeah, but its not really an RPG. Its an isometric squad based tactical shooter set in the world of Fallout.
I'd say for fun factor Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Redneck Rampage are looking pretty sweet to me!

On it's own Fallout Tactics isn't a bad game, in fact it does pretty well what it tries to achieve. BUT the name suggests it's connected to Fallout 1 + 2. The connection however can best be described as extremely loose. The Brotherhood of Steel doesn't act like it is expected to and the story's connection to the plot of the series is vague at best.

If you like games like Jagged Alliance 2 you will most definitively get your fix from Fallout Tactics. But if you expect the game the name suggests, you might end up disappointed. It's no RPG after all. I liked the game quite a lot after my initial disappointment when I first got it.

Fallout 2 is considered to be the best game in the series by an awful lot of Fallout-Fans. I personally prefer the first, but to each his own.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto is definitively a fun game, but it's very humorous approach certainly isn't for everyone. The enemy stomping mechanics are worth their own game though ^^.

Shogo: Mobile Armor Division is just simple shooting fun at its best. It doesn't try to be more than it is which makes it even more enjoyable.

Ah, alright then. Thanks for the opinions guys. I'm inclined to get either Giants or Fallout 2, but I have yet to make a decision. I will soon enough.

EDIT: Bought Giants: Citizen Kabuto. I just hope there's not more tempting games on the next sale.

Ah, finally another Interplay promo. Already had most of these games but now I've finally bought every single last of them that is available on GOG. Before GOG I wasn't really aware how many awesome games were released by Interplay. It's a pity though that Atomic Bomberman isn't in your collection yet.
If for some incomprehensible reason you do not already own Freespace 1 and 2, now is your chance to atone. It is the authoritative space combat game, and outright one of the finest games ever.

The Descent series is also highly recommended. And Fallout is, well, Fallout. =)

I already own -- but have not yet played -- a bunch of these. (shakes fist at The Pile.) Giants (from the creators of the amazing Armed and Dangerous) and Sacrifice are considered to be excellent. I wanted to like Shogo, but found it juvenile and disappointing. And Redneck Rampage nails the whole Ballmer Curve FPS inebriation factor.

Thanks again, GOG!
