What’s in the box?

This weekend, our team of industry analysts, trend-trackers, and ninja spies, came up with a list of twelve games from Digital Game Factory and Funbox Media that we fill you mind find interesting.

The [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/commandos_ammo_pack]Commandos Ammo Pack contains the first game of the famous series of tactical WWII games: Behind Enemy Lines and its expansion: Beyond the Call of Duty. The series is not only known for excellent level design, intelligent AI, historical accuracy, and open-ended missions but also for being extreeeeeeeemely difficult. You will search for a walkthrough, unless you’ve finished extensive commando training. If you like the behind-enemy-lines sneaking and killing Nazis, you’ll probably get
Commandos 2+3 as well, especially since both games are 50% off this weekend only.

Soulbringer is an action RPG, truly a ‘hidden gem’, that almost got buried in 2000 under Diablo II, Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale’s fame. Still, it’s an excellent-crafted piece of fantasy RPG with a story and a battle system to keep you hooked for hours, especially if all this hacking and slashing is now only $2.99.

Guilty Gear, a series of 2D-fighting games, is well known for it colorful high-res graphics, hard rock/heavy metal soundtrack, unique gameplay and insane combos. Guilty Gear X2 #Reload further balances the play and adds even more to the cast of characters unmatched by any other PC fighter you know. If you’re into brutal duels with heavy-metal setting buy Guilty Gear X2 #Reload on GOG.com this weekend for only $2.99!

But that’s not all: is a satirical take on a tycoon game that puts you in role of a cruel, shady landlord. [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/slipstream_5000]Slipstream 5000 is the ultimate 90s racer: blazing fast hovercrafts, deadly weapons, and split-screen mode. You say “Incredible!”, we say “$2.99!” Realms of the Haunting is a horror + adventure + FPS + FMV for only $2.99. And there’s another six games waiting to be uncovered in this promo.

Kunovski: I guess there's just one reasonable option :(
Borrow money and append to the backlog?

Mccy_McFlinn: Commandos 2 should be everyone's first port of call...
Okay, added to cart. Let's see what else...

... wow, more than a few high rated games. I'm gonna have to be picky.

Pass... there are a few games here I really enjoyed at the time (e.g. commandos and constructor) but my taste for games has significantly changed over those... wow... fifteen years! The probability I would like to play any of those games again is very, very low... and therefore I will pass. But still a nice promo it is!
Nice promo, already have all Commandos titles but Soulbringer is in my wishlist.
Guilty Gear X2 #Reload is highly recommended.
Which Commandos game should i get and what is the max. resolution ?
Oh and does Guilty Gear X2 #Reload work with a Logitech Rumplepad ?
Need to make myselfe a small birthday present...

Commandos 2 is the finest example of the genre to date. The first one (and its expansion) is excellent but the sequel took everything to the next level.

The third one was a bit of a personal let down. It relied too much on timed missions and action sequences that flew in the face of what the series was about.

I recently replayed Commandos 2 and it's still brilliant. There are a few mods to make the game even harder but they tend to just bombard the levels with extra enemies which isn't as fun in my opinion.

Just bought the first Commandos and Soulbringer. Now I'll add them to the 50-plus games already downloaded to my computer that I haven't had time to play yet.

Nice sale. Thanks GOG!!
I love Realms of the Haunting, one of my favourite games ever.
And with this promo my backlog will grow again. Everytime I start thinking that I've some progress GOG goes and does something like this. Good promo, Soulbringer will be mine.
WOW Guilty Gear X2 looks really cool, I didn't know that such a fighting game is here. I never noticed. Bought :)

Was going to buy that too, but think the pixely-goodness will drive me nuts :)

I did love it when it came out though. Played it through 3 times back to back. Very good game.
Nice, just bought, Soulbringer, Realms of the Haunting, Imperial Glory and Preatorians. :o)
Very good. I bought the Realms of Haunting and Soulbringer. I have already got the Commandos series.
