So, how exactly does the "€4.70 OFF ANY FUTURE PURCHASE" bit from the Age of Wonders 3 sale work? Does that mean that any game I buy in the future from GOG will have a €4.70 discount? FOREVER? And if the regular price is €4.70 or less, would I get it for free?

synfresh: I've asked around and the consensus I heard was a poor man's HOMM. But if you're into those type of games, go for it.

Pheace: The hell, never listen to whomever answered you again, they're not even close to similar.
You're probably right, I've never played it just what I read somewhere. Another criticism I saw was that the story just wasn't very good (if there is one). Why type of game would be a better comparison?

This means you have 4.70€ that you can spend on games until you used up all of it. You could get a cheap game for less than 4.70€ and still have some leftover, which you can use later on.

Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing it up for me. Cheers!

Gods Will Be Watching for sure! Not 100% about Unrest though.

Maxvorstadt: I mean, if I read the reviews right, some parts of the game are not available without registration, so the game is crippled without online activation!
avatar
JudasIscariot: The single player portion of the game is fully featured and no part of the single player game is hidden behind anything.
This. Several of those reviews are factually wrong. The single player portion has always been DRM-free from the very start.

avatar
JudasIscariot: The only part that requires an account with Triumph Studios is the multiplayer portion but I believe one of the patches for the game added a multiplayer over VPN option so that you could play the game that way.
Sounds like you may have misunderstand this. The improved VPN option is not code for LAN mode. :( All parties playing still need to contact Triumph's server to authorize their copies whenever starting a multiplayer game. The local game traffic then properly goes over the VPN tunnel vs trying to be routed through your normal internet.

Believe it or not, I'm actually exercising a degree of curation over my GOG library. I know it doesn't look like it, since I just passed 600 games...

You own 75% of the catalog, I guess you could call that curation. :)

I've been very responsible lately with not buying games even if tempted cause I haven't even started 98% of the games I already own. But there are some titles here that I'm really interested in but previously were a bit too much money. Especially when I'm not sure how well my system will run them. I hate decisions.

Has anyone played Banished with only 256MB of VRAM? I did a search and found a topic on some forum which said it works fine with only 256 but figured I'd ask here.

Ditto. Lots of good games, however none at the level I'd want to get them. I'll wait a year if I need to, it's not like I don't have enough backlog of games as it is.
Very nice games on this promo - Age of Wonders is great, although should have more interesting campaigns (I haven't played last DLC yet) and Blackguards after all those patches is quite an interesting take on mix between strategy and RPG. Nice one GOG!

Virtual Memory? Or total memory?

It doesn't matter to me, I have VM turned off with 16Gigs of RAM (no need for VM). Although if you wanted to test it, a Virtual Machine running XP would be a good place to test it.

I think he's refering to the Video RAM of his GPU. ;)

Aaahhhh... That certainly makes more sense.
