Anyone who wants to see games they want on here and want to see it do well need to help out and get this site some recognition and more visitors. I doubt these guys are filthly rich and going to have all kinds of advertising and such so if the gamers here dont help then no one will.
#1 Go to the other forums you visit and for the love of whatever god your worship dont just write out a stupid spam thread, post something real about the site and you wanted to share it. And put in that beta code so others can make a account and log in and check it out.
#2 Go the other companies websites like EA or lucasarts or ID or whoever and email their customer service, site feedback, sales associates, managers or whoever and tell them about this site and youd like to see them put their products on here that are older and you would actually pay money for them.
#3 Make a online petition people would vote on that they support this site and like to see more classic games released on here.
#4 Email gog and tell them how much you want to see this work and give them a little support.
But not doing anything wont get us anywhere, if everyone thought that they didnt want to or that someone else would do it then it wont get done and we will all be sitting here wishing the site had more games on it.
Not yet. GOG is beta. We can't advertise a website that no one has access to.
Hey, I'm quite certain GoG is capable of helping themselves, if they wanted our initiation, they'd flat out ask for it, and maybe even give rewards.
Word of mouth has been helping immensely, also the ability to give your friends beta access codes has helped too.
Posted to Forum, Posted to Blog, during pre-beta period.
However, those on said forum and who read said blog are a little lazy. Interest was there, but getting them to click on a link and enter a e-mail address is like climbing Everest...
I'm having problems giving my for-a-friend access key away. My irl gamer friends aren't exactly the old-school type, and my posts on gaming forums get buried fast, I hate self-bumping, and the posts may slightly smack of advertising anyway.
I talked to several peoples about it. I wanted to make an entry on my blog but somebody else already did it (as it is a weird blog engine (blogs.nofrag.com), it's useless to do two same posts at the same time).
I'll do more :)
For starters you can digg this: http://digg.com/gaming_news/Interview_Good_Old_Games_and_the_idiocy_of_DRM

Of course you can. It's called 'building hype level'. =)

You could make it a siggy on any site that allows signatures. Then every post you make will advertise the site.

Heh, nice idea. Could somebody do somekind of userbar or standard image? I suck at image edition.
