There has been numerous discussions on this topic and, frankly, though wishlist IS broken, I don't see a reason new (or non-existing) titles couldn't be there. New games WILL get old eventually and not enough people will vote for cohttp://www.lucaslearning.com/products/pitdroids.htmmplete nonsence anyway, so that's not really of any concern...

New games are there because people want them now, but how many will still want them when the games are "old" (that doesn't already have them by then).

The wishlist is a completely unnecessary feature to being with. At least from a user standpoint. I guess it could be used during negotiations with various IP holders, pointing a finger to the wishlist and saying "look, if you give us the game, 2341 people will buy it!"

My guess would be that the GOG staff only use the wishlist as a very basic brainstorming tool, and that in all likelyhood they only look at the stuff that is getting lots of votes. The ones that are fake probably do not get many votes, and as such go by unnoticed.
