GOG.com & CD Projekt RED Special Event, October 2012

In case you missed it, watch here the whole CD Projekt RED & GOG.com Special Event 2012.

And here's the shortened version of what GOG.com announced at the CDP RED & GOG.com special event on 18 October 2012.

Wait for the longer summary tomorrow and the full stream coming soon!
Still 40 minutes till the conference starts. Once it starts, you can watch the live stream in the post above. In other words: grab your refreshments, sit comfortably, and wait for the show! If you still need to walk your dog, do it now ;-)

Eli: It wasn't clarified by the GOG staffers (even though I warned them several times that this confusion would ensue), but they meant 1800 UTC GMT, not GMT, which is a distinct time zone that is +1 from UTC right now.
UTC is, for all practical purposes, identical to GMT.

You seem to confuse GMT with the British timezone, which is at GMT+1 right now due to daylight savings.

You're not alone though, many people are confused by the fact that "Greenwich Mean Time" and "the local time at Greenwich" are currently one hour apart.

Excellent, now I have time to get the kids into bed :)
What language packs are available for the stream? I want to hear it in Klingon.

Psyringe: *throws some bags of DRM-free popcorn into the waiting crowd* :)

gameon: Does anyone else not find these drm free food jokes funny?
Aww, my bad. Have a DRM-free refreshment tissue then. ;)

Elbart: GMT = UTC
No, technically universally coordinated GMT needs to be specified or one can properly assume you're referring to the GMT ZONE. Hence, UTC GMT is distinct from GMT while the GMT zone is observing Summer Time - during which it goes by several names in several regions, such as BST, IST, WEST, and so on. I explained all of this before the confusion started (twice) in the original news post's forum.
How long is the conference going to be? I don't think i've seen that mentioned anywhere.

Thank you! :-) I hope you'll all enjoy the show!
A countdown would be nice....how are we supposed to know when "soon" is?

By using the countdown from the announcement? ;)

http://j.mp/GOGcomSE2012CD. That's taken straight from the last announcement about the conference.
They said 18:00 GMT so soon should be in 30 mins.

I am so hoping for a Linux support announcement!
FACT: GOG's never on time, they're usually 5-8 minutes late starting everything.
Excitement abound!
