I got "Warrior Kings" a long while back for free on a game CD and really enjoyed it, specially the way your decisions in the campaign influenced the path your tech tree would take (pagan, imperialist or Renaissance) instead of picking your "race" from the start. Then I did the old stupid mistake of lending it to a friend and then forgot which friend i lent it to and ended up losing it.
I just voted for it on the wishlist (no need for "use the wishlist" replies!) but as i was looking around for this game online, i noticed there's a "warrior Kings remastered edition". Superficial searching hasn't answered what's the big difference between the normal version and the remastered one. New content? bug fixing? No clue. Whoever happens to have a clue gets a nice green bar on top of his post and a couple points to their rep.
I'll hold off from buying it elsewhere with hope that it'll eventually get the GOG treatment, even though I've no clue how long that will take. If it takes too long, I might consider fetching it on Gamersgate. It's DRM free there also but I'd rather give my money away to GOG.

I think its just a rerelease of the game with the latest patch so whatever bugs they fixed with patches. If your looking for new content check out warrior kings battles as well. I think that ones meant to have actual AI in the skirmish mode this time around.
I'm not looking this up, but do note the price tag. If under US$20, count that this "remastered" version ships with no manual.
I am taking you are talking about the original WK not WK: Battles.
You would have to see what patch level it is at as remastered may mean very little.
I bought the game when it first came out and they kept promising a 1.4 or 1.04 patch (as I recall) for months and months.
In the end they never put out a patch and the game while playable was rather buggy.
Be careful before you spend more money on the same game.
To me personally, the game was a steaming pile of code that never worked on my system.
I played Warrior Kings, Warrior Kings Battles and I ended up buying remastered.
It's essentially the original with the Battles improvements.
I believe this comes down to higher resolution, better textures, etc, but the bugs of the original game were never fully fixed.

Somehow I figured they would not patch it. From my personal experience, the people that made the game were never up front or honest with their users.
Hey I made a Hamachi network for anyone who still plays to use
Network ID: WarriorKings+
