This is a part of my Summer 2011 Giveaway. For the round that just ended, the entry condition was to write a haiku about an animal or some kind of food. I'm having a TOUGH time choosing which poet to award the prize to. In the end I narrowed it down to 6 below based purely on my own subjective feelings towards them. Even six was tough - it could easily have been 10 or more.

Great job to everyone who wrote in in the other thread, even if yours didn't make it to the final six! A lot of you came VERY close.

Now... what I'd like to do is have everyone vote for their favourite. Those who participate in the voting process will be entered for a chance to win a game currently on sale at $2.99 (yeah, I'm being cheap this time, but it's better than nothing :p). The draw is open to everyone - even those who have their haikus featured below.

Cassidy and saramakos seem to follow closest the form of traditional haiku (from my little knowledge of the art form). I gotta give my nod to Cassidy, for the sentiment expressed.
