reaver894: I meant you on the receiving end, Last time I was in the IRC i left after the anime porn pictures started getting linked this granted was about 2 years ago.
Oh gosh, I feel awful and self-indulgent now for misinterpreting you :<. Oops.
So I don't post porn on forums and I can't remember posting any anime porn in the IRC. Someone probably did. There are an awful amount of penises hidden amongst the imgur links dropped in there for whatever reason. There is a reason I keep my old name on the forums.
We're probably bad people for calling it #gog, still. I think it started sincerely enough and we de-evolved into a fraternity of internet people. We're not really a carrier of the GOG community as we used to be, although of course we haven't forgotten about it. I think maybe extraneous GOG 'colonies' died when we stopped playing TF2.
It never truly really was a homogenous GOG community, though. #gog actually was a mixture of 2 or 3 communities with other people stopping through, too. Of course the biggest well it drew from was here. The mutual togetherness was always a fascination and appreciation for GOG's work - we're losing that now because GOG as a values-based service is slowly dying, so maybe the IRC might be barren some day.
tl;dr online communities are fucking weird and it's best not to think about them too much. i have a headache now oh god this is really bad actually
