Any chance of GOG bringing V:TM Bloodlines back into their catalogue?

Frostyfirefly: Any chance of GOG bringing V:TM Bloodlines back into their catalogue?
It was never there in the first place. Given how Activision dumped the other sites that used to sell it (especially dotemu, which solid it drm-free), it's probably staying a Steam exclusive.
Yeah they pulled it from Dotemu, not GOG.

Who knows why. On Steam it doesn't even work unless you turn off the in-game Steam interface and use the fan patch.
Oh, it was Dotemu, my bad. Still, it would be nice if GOG got a hold of it.
Well, it was DRM-free on DotEmu, which is a good sign. That they didn't prolong the contract with DotEmu could be a bad sign, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they won't sell it DRM-free again. GOG is better known and more popular than DotEmu, selling it on DotEmu and not here when Activision is already a partner of GOG seemed like a weird decision - it was probably due to GOG only having two price points at that time? That has changed since then, so I don't see why we should give up hope that Activision and GOG can come to some agreement in the future. Sure, it wouldn't be ideal to sell it for $20 or something when all other classic games are $10 at max, but I bet people would still be happy and pay for it, and the game is worth that, IMO.

FYI you don't have to turn off steam overlay. Also, why would you want to play without the patch? The game is a major bugfest without it.

Pretty much every help thread for the game ever made says to. I can't really say, I went from disc version to Dotemu version.
My guess is it is so bugged that the refunds and help tickets aren't worth it for anything but steam. I love the game but it needs the community patches which make it a real gem (amazing really). It really is a broken game otherwise. WOD seems to be a curse to game developers, good luck CCP.
Plus the Soundtrack might cause additional licensing issues - at least potentially - I'd guess.

There are second-hand copies out there that go for not much more than the steam price though; where I got my copy from, too.

The game installs with a folder filled with them in mp3 format vampire/sound/music/licenced. I am sure that they got full rights, Chiasm said she didn't even get a copy of the game out of it, who knows if there was even money.
Given that there has been over 12400 votes for it. I'm sure the staff will do what it can to get the game

If it really is that bad, then GOG might be able to talk Activision into including the fan patch. It's extremely rare, but for a tiny handful of games in the catalog (I believe, like, Might and Magic 9 or the one that was a super-bugfest) GOG has included the fanpatch, if it is important enough.

So again, if the fan patch is extremely important, GOG might zero in on including that.

It says to but once you have that unofficial patch on you don't need to, I always keep it on no matter what pc I am using and it always works for me.

Yeah if it got on GoG then they would prolly work a way into getting that patch on

I can't see them including the patch because of all the controversy and different versions, plus it adds new stuff which some people won't want.

It'll be a forum sticky though, I am sure.

Well I would imagine that if they did include the patch that there would be 2 separate downloads, one for the basic patched game and one for the plus patched game
