chautemoc: Hm, I notice you and Cook are both the go to guy. You should both pick a number. :)

What they need to do is duel to the death for the title or at least duel for it over a game of UT2004.

A good idea made even better. :)
I dont want of the team dying though so lets go for the second option.
I do hope that some onslought does get played. 200ms-250ms pings means I can't really play deathmatch....
Either that or give us a server that the AU/NZ folks can play on :)
EDIT: Just reread my post, and must admit it sounds a bit...presumptuous of me really, considering I don't have the GOG version of UT2004...

I thnk i going to pick this up. The reason i usually don't play online is because I don't spend hours practicing so when i go online everyone complains about the noob.
Argh no one on either server.. damn aussie time zone..
Any hints on a good game server provider who hosts UT2k4 servers in Australia, then? Can't give you any promises, but if we find a good one, there's a chance we might set up a third one. Are pings decent between east Asia and Australia?

Firek: Thanks a lot for the great game today! :) I promise I'll do something about my skill and dish out a helluva lot more punishment next time. :3

Bring it on, Firek, you were quite a pussy yesterday >;3
Ah well, reinstalling UT2004. Isn't there a mutator to make the game act more like UT in terms of speed and violence of the weapons? If I remember correctly, it is already in the vanilla game.

Yeah same I like to enjoy my games not work at them. My flat mate did that with beat em ups and ended up having noone to play against, constantly losing because you dont spend hours on the practice mode gets dull fast.
Also just played UT:2004 first time today. was worth every penny.

Yes, there is something like that in the vanilla game. When I think about it, I would prefer that myself. I loved the sniper in UT99, for example, and that's pretty much the only game I liked it in as well. As long as it doesn't remove the adrenaline thing though, because that's pretty cool as well.
Played again today, and proved once more I have a target painted on my face and a t-shirt saying 'Shoot Me, Please!'.
I played some this morning on the EU server, and got to play with Krankor, Skreczi and BladderOfDoom (not all at the same time). I did okay, but I eventually dropped out when the only other players were the generic speed freaks with garbled usernames :p

THAT ! That's why I hate playing online FPSes lately.
