i'm back in school part time now, finished my BA about 3 years ago.
At first I was confused as to why you would be getting scores in the middle of summer (I'm in the US), and then I realized you're in Australia.
I'm taking summer classes here, done with the first half of summer, got one grade in the low 90%s, one in the high 80%s.

Yeah, we basically have up to 8 subjects a year, 4 per semester with tests in the middle and at the end. I've exhausted almost all my classes since there's dependencies for other subjects so I've been down to a half load per semester in the last year, 2 more classes to go and I've got a degree, neither class has a test and are all work I've done a lot of in the past so as far as I'm concerned, I have a degree now

I'm not sure which was worse: that semester when I had to take data structures, operating systems and network security all at the same time, or that recurring dream where it's the end of the semester and I realize there's a class on my schedule that I haven't been attending or doing the assignments for.
I left after I got my bachelor's degree, but I have a friend who is going for a PhD in physics. I think he's cracked.

I'm showing signs of cracking, depending on the getting work thing, I'm contemplating doing a double degree and converting my english lit minor into a second major

I don't know what kind of evil educational system you Australians have suffered, but that's not what private school is like. We get punished for anything at all anyway.
