pimpmonkey2382: You made the very wrong choice. :P

hummer010: LOL.

Reading through this thread, I'm not sure there was a right choice, unless it was to buy neither.
Either way I hope you enjoy the game. I couldn't get into either risen game though.

I have a total of 30 minutes of play time for both games. That was all I could handle. lol

Edit: Two worlds 2 I have 6 hours into it.

Like i said: Two Worlds 2 has the best story from all of those titles. But i find the game a wee bit tedious. It's a rough gem and i would like to see a more refined third part.

Risen offers more variety in gameplay, but the story...ungh...
Thanks all. LOL I am still not sure if I should get Risen and now I'm torn about Two Worlds. sigh Life is so hard.
I wouldn't even give risen to people I don't like on here. That's too cruel.
I hope you enjoy Risen as much as I did! I finished it in about 40 hours, so get going ;)
I wouldn't discard easily any of the series. I've made two playthroughs for Risen and i still have yet to finish Risen 2. Had 1 playthrough of Two Worlds and preparing for my second. Also, i really need to finish Two Worlds 2. So, as you can see, i liked both series for different reasons there.

The Voodoo specialization in Risen 2 it's very nice, but in the beginning seems a bit useless. And yet, it offers the most interesting aspect of the gameplay. The firearms are nice once you specialize in them, but the character becomes almost godly with them. Swords are offering the most challenging gameplay, but they are easy to find/forge.

hummer010: After waffling back and forth for hours, I finally decided to go with Risen for the sole reason that it is the more expensive game. 80% off of $40 is more savings than 80% off of $30.
And thus, Summer Sale Santa Strikes!

Check your PMs. :)

Wow! Thanks Summer Sale Santa! That's fantastic.

Now I have the dilemma of which one to play first!

[Edit]Which really isn't much of a dilemma, Risen is nearly finished downloading[/Edit]

Rhineland:
Thanks a bunch Rhineland (+1). :)
I really appreciate your reply and think I'll try out the second game at some point. Most Gothic fans seem to like (if not outright love) the Risen series so it's nice to hear a differing critical viewpoint.
