Now look, I'm not gonna be a know-it-all. Chances are, most of you guys with Battle.Net accounts have no problem at all.

But I've been critical of the way Blizzard has been doing business lately with the "always on" connections and whatnot, and now I feel validated in my concerns.

The story is that my Battle.Net account keeps getting "locked" over and over and over again. It has happened 4 times in the past 3 months. I keep changing my password, and the account get locked all over again for "suspicious activity."

The "suspicious activity" is most definitely not my own doing, as the only reason I've logged in lately is to change my password.

I keep asking Blizzard support why this is happening. They tell me that I must have a keylogger. LOL. If true, I must have the dumbest keylogger in the history of keyloggers! Because apparently this keylogger has existed on my system for the past 4 months, and the only thing that has been compromised is my battle net account, multiple times.

Yeah, so I guess according to Blizzard I have a keylogger that only works on Battle.Net. Or else I have someone controlling my keylogger that has no interest whatsoever in my credit cards, bank account or any of my other accounts that I log into frequently. '

It's this kind of stupid crap that keeps me away from buying Diablo 3 and the like...
just link your account to an authenticator. You can even get one as a free app if you have a smartphone.
The account will immediately lock if it has been accessed from an unknown IP address (an IP that you (or an attacker) has used for the first time).

Happened to me when I went to a friend's place, and played D3 there. But it took me no more than a few seconds to unlock it, just entered the code from the authenticator and it didn't bother me again.

You know, that just makes it somehow even worse.
Blizzard accounts are always getting hacked. I removed the authenticator from my Android phone when I was upgrading to install on my new phone. There was no authenticator on my account for about an hour and my account got hacked (WOW at the time was my thing)

So either grab the authenticator for about £8 direct from Blizzard or if you have an iPhone or Android phone get the free authenticator from the store on the phone (Its an official Blizzard app)

How is that possible? Either blizzard keyloggers are more common than people think or blizzard's own security is a joke.

At the time the mobile authenticator didn't have the code you use when re installing it between devices. So I had to remove it from my Blizzard account, then removed from phone, then re install to new phone and then back onto the Blizzard account.

All my characters were wiped and had to contact WoW support to get them all back, was a right chew on to say the least. Needless to say, after that I didn't renew my WoW subscription and have refused Diablo 3 due to this and their always on for what is a primarily a single player game.

I would go with the latter.

stoicsentry: Snip...
My advice? Change the email of the account. I got hacked a few years ago and it's one of the first things I did. I get so many emails to the old account that it's not funny (Ok, it actually is), but they haven't seemed to zero in on the other account just yet. It might not be a permenent fix but it does keep them guessing for a while a least.
