wizardtypething: I don't even know what a Heidi Klum is.

jjsimp: What are you living in a cave. She's a former Victoria's Secret supermodel from Deutschland.
Wait, wait. Who is Victoria and what is her secret?
You should really invest your experience points into strategic verbose of "Madre de Dios! Es el Pollo Diablo!"
The important thing is: tinyE's motel/BB is all booked ==>> he must be loaded with money ==>> a giveaway from him is iminent.

I'm in, thanks!

I like your deductive reasoning. Also in. :P

Maybe tinyE should call it the "Who the heck is Heidi Klum, anyway?" giveaway. :D

(a bit cacophonous, I know)

tinyE: I need to share this with someone and this poor forum is all I have. :P

A gentleman just called and asked for a reservation. When I told him we were booked he said, "Are you sure, my good friend Heidi Klum and I really want to stay there."

Heidi Klum is probably sun bathing in Rio at this minute being hand fed grapes and drinking $1000 champagne. Somehow I don't think Copper Harbor Michigan is on this woman's bucket list. :P
Why not? You said you are fully booked, so there must be something why everyone wants to be there. And since you are fully booked, maybe that is what piqued her interest?

Could be also some other Heidi Klum, of course. There must be practically hundreds if not thousands of Heidi Klums out there!

tinyE said he considered it until the other guy asked "Have you heard of her?". So it must be her.

tinyE could also say that he is engaged. If he is "booked" then he must be an interesting guy. I bet tens of female gamers will PM him.

(I hope the new, improved tinyE still has his sense of humor).

Very doubtful. "Klum" is a very rare surname. It may be derived from either Klump/Klumpp or Chlum, but in both cases, "Klum" would be a rare variant. Prior to Heidi, there is no record of any person of that name who received even remote popularity anywhere. After her, we got a TV anchor by the same surname, but that's still only two people.

Also, "Heidi" is not an extremely popular given name either.

Can't people even change their names, in order to match their idols?

Depends on the respective legislation. In most countries you need to state "important reasons" for a name change, and changing a name into "Heidi Klum" would not be accepted. England is an exception, the legislation there is very liberal with regard to people's names, but you may have trouble getting a passport afterwards, and you may have to keep using your original name when you're in other countries since those don't acknowledge the English name changing rights. In the US, it differs from state to state.

In general, while it's possible that (say) a dozen people were mad enough to apply for a change of their name to "Heidi Klum", and happened to live under a legislation that allows that, it's still extremely unlikely that there are hundreds or even thousands of them.

Why were you in the market for women's underwear?
This has made my day :). You should have told him, that in that case you have a Presidential Suite for $10000/night :P
This is the greatest forum ever. I made a stupid thread about some silly phone call and now we have entered into a deep resonating conversation about wearing women's underwear.

Hey Steam forum, EAT SHIT!

Starmaker: Why were you in the market for women's underwear?
Yeah, like that's the only reason to watch women parading around in lingerie and women's underwear. Back in my teenage years that catalog was the most available and free magazine featuring scantily clad women.

In the USA I don't think there is any legislation to provide a reason to change your name. We have a lot of idiots in this country that change their name to something stupid for attention.
