This is what I wrote on RPGCodex:

If enough people heard about the game, funding wouldn't be a problem. (Big Numbers Rule)
A few thousand people can fund any game with a flick of the wrist.

In the meantime we have investigated a bit and realized, kickstarter most probably restrains the no name projects so that people concentrate on big ones (for their 5 percent cut).
In other words, if you look for an rpg KS project in google, the small ones (not just ours)
won't ever appear! There was a list of small ones: all of them failed. "What a surprise."

Other pledgers have confirmed this too.

It is very possible that this is part of a bigger scheme that comes from the Big Companies...

Regardless the scheming, it is still doable anyway.

Just start pledging please, bring friends and spread the word wherever you can.
Thanks.

+Will the NPCs be visible in the 3D view?

Yes

+If so, will they just stand around or move?

They move just like in Fallout 3 or any other 3D RPG.

+Will the art sytle be consistent, how will character portraits look,

We want a consistent art style. This makes it quite difficult.
The portraits will probably look like they do on the GUI mockup screen.

+How will the combat screen and characters look, provided the latter don't appear in 3D view?

No combat screen. Everything appears in 3D view.

+How does the combat work, other than being turn-based?

This is pretty standard. Very similar to Fallout 1-2.

+How well written is the dialogue? I'd like to see a sample.

There are samples if you follow one of the links.

+I understand that the game's still in development, but it would be helpful to at least read something about this on the Kickstarter page.

We provided plenty of info. What are you interested in?

+I fear my PC might not meet the system requirements as it happens with a lot of more recent games. Are they specified anywhere?

You won't need a powerful machine.

+Last but not least, my only option for international payment on the internet is PayPal, so sadly I'm not even in teh target group for this Kickstarter action.

If we were overpledged, we could add a paypal account. Not until, because PP immediately deducts your money, unlike kickstarter.

Remember, even Tim and Brian were turned down by the Big Studios. It is really the users that can change the future of alternative games.

Well, exactly the stuff that I asked about and that you answered in your post (that the turn-based combat will be in 3D and that the NPCs are moving in 3D, too etc.). Thanks for answering that in detail! :)

Also thanks for providing another link to the portraits and the dialogue samples. It's probably been asked before but will it be the same as the NWN modules Tortured Hearts or Tortured Hearts 2? I own NWN and could check these out for getting a first impression of story and dialogue?

That's a bit vague because "powerful" is a matter of definition. I'd be much happier with approximate system specs (and I'm sure others would too), but it's a start.

Yeah, I know. Sadly I'll have to wait and see if the project gets funded then, but consider me a potential customer if it succeeds.

"will it be the same as the NWN modules Tortured Hearts or Tortured Hearts 2"

Well, unfolding the story is kind of similar, although the stand-alone game is less unforgiving. Also, the stand-alone game has more humor.

Before anything is done, it is quite difficult to define specs.

Try spreading the word please. You can help with that a lot.

I'm bit confused looking at the mock up and above statement. Are we moving in the world Legend of Grimrock or isometric? If LoG style (as mockup leads me to believe), how can combat be similar to FO1&2 (moving people around in isometric battlefield)?

It's full 3D, not isometric.Portraits and distant elements are 2D, maybe some vegetation.

Also, don't mix graphics with game mechanics. :)

-------------------------------------------------------

Interesting development in the meantime:
If you google the keywords RPG and Kickstarter, suddenly our project is the 5th entry.
How strange... it wasn't there for almost 30 days.

it's because of your interview and other sites linking to your kickstarter, as well as more people searching you by google.

that's what's called advertisement, and that's what you should do, instead of hanging around here. I really appreciate it, as I like your project (I'm already a backer) but I don't think you can get enough attention by posting here. Your project and Nekro suffer fromthe lack of attention of the press. Try to change it.

The interview is much older than that.

We are working on spreading the word.

This is part of it.

Ppl are too busy with Wasteland 2 atm :)

Ah, ok. But I saw it on rpgwatch just a few days ago.

edit: well, it's from 12th of April. And I noticed more pledges since it was published.

Actually you're mixing things as being full 3D doesn't mean it can't be isometric(most modern games are full 3D, only camera angle differs). What I was asking is wether or not you move and fight first person (Dungeon Master, Eye of Beholder, Might and Magic, Legend of Grimrock etc.) or 3rd person/isometric (ala baldurs gate, Fallout, Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights etc.)? Do you controll your companions individually or in a group?
Petrell

This is isometric:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isometric_graphics_in_video_games_and_pixel_art

TH is definitely not isometric. :)

TH is full 3d like say Fallout 3, but 3rd person.

As you move forward, you control your group, if you are in combat, you can issue orders individually.

The first concept of TH looked like this, but the artist Csaba "Max" Zsilvölgyi can't be among us anymore. The logo is also his work. Later we decided to change the art style.

If you guys help us, I'll make a GOG shrine in the game, mentioning all the pledgers' name. :)
SubBassman: what work has been completed for the project so far?
lowyhong

All of these are waiting to be converted from the Aurora Toolset to Unity 3D:

200 areas defined (all transitions too)
About 40 Shops defined
200+ plot inventory items defined (and used by conversations, quests)
Zillions of spawner objects placed (these spawn NPCs, placeable objects and items
90 percent of combat triggers defined
More than 500 NPCs defined + plenty of monsters
These NPCs have 473000+ words of conversation written and scripted! This includes about 100000+ words of companion lines. (talking to you, to NPCs or each other)
All of the NPCs have 13+ one-liners to say if you are out of conversations, all written and scripted
100+ quests working including the plot
Character training scripted (skills, attributes, sidelines)
Crafting scripted
Companion relationship scripted
Traps scripted and placed all over the world

What's the conversion process like?
