Not arguing with that, just the part where a form of non-violent protest all of a sudden is "terrorism-lite". I'm sure there are some in power who would love for that to be true. The derp guys? Yeah, they committed a crime. I'm not defending those dudes.

Merriam-WEbster:
vi·o·lence
noun \ˈvī-lən(t)s, ˈvī-ə-\
: the use of physical force to harm someone, to damage property, etc.
Wikipedia:
Violence is "the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation."[2] This definition associates intentionality with the committing of the act itself, irrespective of the outcome it produces.
YES! Because I'm so sick of hearing Americans unabashedly say un-American things.

Ooh, semantic games, fun... not.
I was speaking more in a general legal sense. Violent crimes are usually considered crimes committed directly against living beings. There's a reason we have different terms for burglary and robbery.
And if you want to speak in a more general sense, there is an element of force involved in some cyber crimes. Hackers are forcibly depriving others of their legitimate property rights.
I've already addressed your point about the sit-ins. And in the vein of un-American things and current events, there are topics of *far* greater interest to speak of...
But honestly, as you can probably glean from the brevity of my answers to you, I'm not all that interested in debating anything of import tonight. I'll play along for a while, I guess, but my chief interest in this topic was lessening the "dog pile" forming on top of the OP (who I suspect was just venting frustration and wasn't intending to offend or belittle anyone).

talk about being paranoid , calling a ddos attack terrorism , do you actually know that some companies expect this so that they can up their security up and plug the holes.

Since I don't have Twitter, I hope they can somehow read this here.
There's even a Wikipedia article about those cyber terrorists:

Something like this is horrible and illegal, but you're absolutely right that it's an absurd parallel to make.
