I'm kinda having a (kinda) DRM free day over at gamers gate (my cart already has Recetear, SPaZ (and thus the "kinda" modifier), and Dungeon Defenders in it) so I'm sort of eyeballing Bastion too ....

should I get it?
Yes.
Yes. It's easily one of the best games in my recent memory.
Yes. The soundtrack is absolutely fabulous. You can check the soundtrack here, and you also get to hear the narrator in the first song, so you'll know if you're one of those people his voice drives into fiery fury of deadly doom. Personally, I like the narrator. You get to hear him a lot, though, so you'd better dig it.

...and the game is good too! -but seriously, the soundtrack, man!
I'd get it on Steam instead... I'm 95% sure the game will be sold at a lower price - probably 50% off - so be patient.
Yes, go buy it already!

gamesgate has it for $10 ATM.

It's $10.04 (33% off) at Steam which really makes me think it'll be 50% off soon.
Yes, get it. It's absolutely excellent.

Yeah, I would wait for the Steam Daily Deal and also grab the soundtrack, which is awesome.
.... except that I would then have to play it with steam and that it would involve me further funding steam.

besides, we are talking about the difference of $2.50. $10 is pretty much my spending limit of "why the fuck not".

anything over that I tend to think about and make sure that it's something I will play / enjoy, anything less and I usually just say "why the fuck not" providing it looks interesting.

I only asked on the quality of it because I already have $25 worth of stuff that I've been wanting to get my hands on in the cart and tossing in an extra "why the fuck not" item kinda makes the whole deal a little spendy. (especially after "why the fuck not"-ing Deadspace 1 over the summer and the game has got a critical "crash on execute" error that wont get fixed)

P.S. I fail to see the logic in buying soundtracks from games, usually you can just dig them out of the game files ...

Yeah... those composers and musicians don't need your money anyway.

>:P
uhm .... I will gladly buy the soundtracks just as soon as the composers / musicians enter into consignment contracts that only award them compensation for soundtrack sales.

I don't have to support the composers / musicians because I'm supporting the company who paid the composers / musicians for contributing their content to the game.
Definitely get Bastion. It's an excellent game. The gameplay itself is not terribly original, it's fairly standard hack'n'slash fare, but it is very well executed. The setting and story are highly original though, and the audiovisual impression is as well.

Personally, I had a blast with the game. I played through it twice, in fact. I highly recommend it.
Hell yeah! Beautiful game. Fantastic vibe. Just generally one hell of a good gaming experience.
