I woke up this morning with a nice surprise in my YouTube feed. Thug Notes which is a series that does summary's and analysis of classic literature in a unique sort of way did an episode on Dune and it was great. After watching it again though he didn't mention Chani and while he mentions Yuehs and his betrayal, but doesn't seem to mention that he had a reason and not just "I'm feel like being a prick". Other than that it I liked it. Made me laugh and think.

More on point than any other short synopsis, as always.
My all-time favorite books... Great writing, great story, too bad that Herbert himself didn't lived enough to finish the story himself as the books by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson are somehow not as good as the originals.
BH and KJA efforts are nowhere near the quality of Dune, but perhaps not as bad as some people would make out. Dune is also much better than the subsequent books by FH, I'd recommend anybody new to the series just read Dune and resist the temptation to try the sequels.
I loved the concept of the "Golden Path" in the Dune books.

My favorite book is actually The God Emperor of Dune. It has so much depth... Anyway, the sequels aren't *that* bad, but the writing style is so different from Herbert's own that somehow they don't feel like Dune books. But they are a nice wrap-up as Chapterhouse Dune leaves a big cliffhanger, so I'm glad they exist :)
