If you've played a video game in 2009, chances are you heard Nolan North's voice. The guy has some charm, and that's gotten him into nearly every big title. However, when I was watching the Quick Look for the Dark Void demo and Nolan North's voice popped up yet again as a main character, either Ryan or Jeff brought up a very good point; is this the year we all start hating Nolan North? Will we reach a point where hearing his voice will change from "Hey, it's Nolan North!" to "FUCK, it's that goddamned Nathan Drake sneaking his way into yet another title and now all my immersion is GONE!"?

Seeing as how Steve Blum has been in almost every single video game involving guys with guns, I doubt it.
Hell, Clancy Brown has voiced countless cartoons. As a cartoon watcher, you just grow to like hearing a familiar voice (and feeling very strange sensations as you suddenly start viewing Lex Luthor as a father-figure because of Captain Stacy).
No one seems to care about the likes of Jennifer Hale and she is in almost everything
Robin Atkin Downes anyone? He seems to be in every bloody game I pick up, check him out on IMDB.com and you'll see what I mean.

I certainly don't. love her voice, only second actress to the chick who voiced Azula in Avatar: last airbender and Jeanette from Bloodlines: Grey DeLisle!

Ah yes alas poor Robin. Not big enough to be a leading man, too big to be a sidekick, not enough character to be a bad guy so he slipped through the cracks in Hollywood into voice acting. Biggest role I think he ever had was as Byron in Babylon 5.

Now you've gotten one of the really catchy beats they play (Travis whistles it at the beginning, it's in the intro and some stages) stuck in my head.
I didn't even known Nolan North was the voice of Desmond in Assassin's Creed until my wife looked him up on IMDB one day. He actually has the ability to change his voice around a little bit, so I don't see anyone noticing it and having their experience ruined.
Paul Eiding (Metal Gear, Condemned 2, Diablo II) is in tons of game and he always has the same voice. Laura Bailey was the voice of both Bloodrayne and Alex D in Deus Ex: Invisible War (and was the reason I play female Alex D every single time, sexy voice rawr). Other examples are Cam Clarke, Crispin Freeman (Anime voice actor, starting to do more games though), and Jennifer Hale as Delixe said.

I think we can make a mutual agreement that Micheal Ironside has a great voice for gritty characters. Than again, so does Vin Diesel.
Does anyone here think that Kirk Acevedo and Mike Patton (ESPECIALLY Mike Patton. His voice horrified me!) did a good job in The Darkness?
Mike Patton is insane. His voice was entirely without synthesis from what I've heard. He's extremely talented and it's a shame he doesn't do more work in games.

Yeah, that is his voice without any work done on it. I think his voice is one of the best in video games. Ugh, Nolan North...
I kind of like Barry Corbin, though he's mainly doing live-action, not voice-acting. I very rarely recognise actors between different movies and whatnot but was quite surprised to see a face to recognised from Red Alert 2 in a TV series my brother and sister watches: One Tree Hill.
Oh, yeah, and i had too look him up through the IMDB page for RA2 to get his name, as I never actually bother enough to remember the actors' names and faces.
mmmmmmm
